Whats the current deal for soda kegs? edit, found a deal.
Whats the go-to place for soda kegs?
The used ones. I am thinking Morebeer due to free shipping. The other ones seem to be great but then they add in 10-15 dollars shipping on each one.
I do not mind buying like a 4 pack special if I can save some bucks.
Oh, btw... anyone use them for a sec. or primary fermination? (reason why I am adding more , plus I am going to build a deep freezer kegator).
Right now of Jan,31 Cornykegs have buy 2 and save 10%. I bought two sets. Shipping was crazy low (35 bucks for 4 kegs).
I am happy
U used to use a 10 gallon "soda" keg for primary. I rigged up the gas in port with a variable pressure relief valve. I set it to 15 psi and let it go. It worked well enough but I sent back to fermenting in glass so I could SEE what is going on.
I order from Keg Connection, they're right down the road from Austin, so I get my order quick and shipping is a flat $7.95.

I got a total of four on Craigslist...used soda ball locks.
I paid $30 each but invested another $3 each for a complete new o-ring sets.
Work fine, cleaned easily with a non-perfumed oxy-clean powder...
I sourced 3 of them from my beer store. $48 each and they were supposed to be ready to go. Unfortunatly the seals were bad. Fortunatly they gave me a new seal sets when I went back in.
Aside from that, I keep my eyes open for CL deals.
I ordered a 4 pack from cornykeg a month ago. The ones I got were coke kegs converted to ball lock.
Northern has the pepsi ones for $45 although I bought one at the store a few weeks ago for $40. I am trying out secondarying with one of my kegs.
