Hey, does anyone else make their own ginger beer?
I've had brands that I like (Fentimans, Reed's), but then I had brands that tasted like ginger and Pine-Sol (Maine Root and Ginger People, I'm looking at you). Since I already brewed beer I wondered if I could make my own ginger beer and thus avoid the pinesoliness.
I put about 4.5 oz. fresh ginger juice, 4.5 oz. lime juice, 1.5 oz. lemon juice, ~1.1 cup turbinado sugar, and >=1/8 tsp. ale yeast up to 72 oz. total bottled into 12 oz. beer bottles.
Ferment for about 24-36 hours and the bottle are GTG (if you leave it out, the bottles WILL explode).
Mix that in with some Gosling's Black Bermuda and some lime...
