Any tips and recipes for grilling shrimp on a charcoal grill? Its what I want to lunch tomorrow, along with mor eof the bacon wrapped grilled chicken breast and some ears of corn...
it only take 2 to 3 minutes on each side for them to be done - You want them to be nice and pink..
You can easily over cook them, so be careful
We found a garlic marinade that we have used in the past on them that was yummy. You want the shells off if you marinade though
Peel 'em, melt a stick of butter in a small saucepan, stir in a couple tablespoons of lemon pepper, and brush the shrimp with that before grilling.
Got some jumbo shrimp in a marinade of olive oil, sea salt, black pepper, garlic and lemon and lime juice.
I normally use some olive oil and Tony Chacheres cajun seasoning. I also do it sometimes with Greek seasoning.
It seems to be good to rub pesto on either side and grill until it forms a "casing" on the outside. Homemade pesto is the best but store bought is still quite kickass.
If they are fresh, peel and de-vein them. Melt a stick of butter and add garlic powder and a bit of onion powder to taste and marinate them for 30 minutes or so.
Grill over medium heat for 2-3 minutes per side or until they start to butterfly open. They will cook very fast so be careful not to over cook them. Get kinda chewy if you do.
3/4 cupfinely chopped onion
1 clove garlic, minced
1/4 cup olive oil
1 12-ounce can pear nectar
1/2 cup white wine vinegar
1/4 cup honey
2 tablespoons Worcestershire sauce
1 teaspoon prepared horseradish
1 teaspoon dry mustard
1 teaspoon salt
1/2 teaspoon thyme
1/4 teaspoon rosemary
1/4 teaspoon pepper
Cook onion and garlic in hot oil till tender but not brown. Add remaining ingredients; simmer uncovered 5 minutes. Use for marinating shrimp while on grill. I used large shrimp that I could put on bamboo skewers. Same mixture supposed to be good on chicken. This dish was a big hit at a church cookout some time back. Shrimp were peeled by the way before cooking.
