Had a spare ribeye left over that my girlfriend got me for my birthday in October, and decideded to make a steak dinner for one tonight.
Before you mouth breathers get all hot and bothered, pic of gf
Steak was slightly freezer burnt because I was a lazy bastard and didn't remove it from the original butcher paper from October
Immage of the initial sear; coated in grape seed oil with Paula Deen's house seasoning (2/3 salt, 1/3 pepper, 1/3 garlic powder)
Pic of it resting elevated as Alton Brown suggests
Pic of the asparagus and sweet onions searing (prior to adding fresh garlic and sun-dried cherry tomatoes)
Initial plating pic with Glock 19, reload of 15 Winchester pdx1 124grn +P JHP, and Benchmade 580 Barrage, 8" Shun Kaji , and a glass of cheap merlot (I would have liked Boggle, but I am a poor college student, and all my extra money goes to ammo, and the girlfriend) garnish is fresh rosemary. Soup is homemade creamy potato and leek with ham.
Final plating pic with addition of homemade herb butter
Cooked to about medium, I would have liked mid rare, but this was my first try at the AB style
I am smashed off the rest of the bottle of Merlot, as well as 4 Knobb Creeks, neat, I will edit when sober in the morning.
Ok, so its afternoon, but edited for working pics, grammar, and sobriety

Yum.
Like the onion/asparagus set up.
Lol on last line of finishing up bottle of merlot and 4 knob creeks
No pics of gf, one steak and a drunken ending?

yea, I'm usually not too artsy when it comes to presentation, but I was last night, and that's when I was still sober
Hence the totally botched OP

That's 4/3
But everything else looks great!
From this I have learned never to post while drunk

You could have hit a home run but the presentation was lacking.
7/10
Very nice, OP. 10/10.
Man, that looks good. Exactly how I cook mine.
Looks great OP. I tried that pan-seared method twice, and to be honest, it lacked the flavor I like from grilling. It was OK, but I'll stick with 4-min a side at 375 in my grill for medium rib eye goodness. I like the crispy fat and every-so-slightly charred taste to the outside.
I was wondering who took my benchmade.

I've had mine for 2 years now and love it...and no, you can't have it back
