We got some NY strip steaks for tomorrow. I'm planning to put them on the grill. Any particular advice for grilling an awesome steak? Same prep (oil, salt, pepper) as cooking steaks indoors? What's the arfcom consensus about heavily salting the steaks an hour or so before cooking?

Never seen that one before. It makes sense.
I get my grill super hot to sear the outside and seal in the moisture. Cook a couple minutes, rotate 45 degrees for another couple minutes. Flip and repeat. I like nice grill marks on my steaks.
Then you have to let them rest for a few minutes before cutting into them. This isn't such an issue when a server is going to deliver it to a guest...the time goes by without having a 'rest period', but at home I let them rest.
