Lost a good Mason, and a good friend last night
WB Bill Felkner, 32 KCCH. Past Master of Wasatch Lodge #1, F&AM of Utah. I believe he received his 60 year Mason award a couple of years ago. He had coached so many brothers over the years they named the Lodge of Instruction after him. Earned the Purple Heart on Utah Beach.
He passed away at 11:30 last night after a week of being in a hospice center.
I used to live a few blocks from him. Spent many an evening on his couch learning ritual. He helped coach me through all three degrees. Tested my proficiency in all of them as well. Taught me many other parts over the years. No matter how old his body got, his mind remained sharp. He could remember the work better than any of us.
Chatting with him and his wife was always a pleasure. Was easy to spend a couple of hours there and not realize so much time had passed. Remembered with clarity his experiences in WWII. Blamed his lack of hair on his helmet. Could still remember how much his M1 Garand weighed fully loaded. His stories were amazing. He will surely be missed.

I never knew him, but from your description he must have been an incredible man. I'm sorry for your loss.
yeah, that sucks when we loose a good one like that. a tough pill to swallow.
just dont let his message get lost, so he can live on through others actions.
The Greatest Generation is shrinking at an amazingly fast rate. I have no doubt that he left a legacy he would have been proud of.
Sorry for you loss and just know that he has been called to rest from his labors
He had completed all of his designs on his trestle board of life, you will see him again in the celestial lodge above. I didn't know the WB, I'm sure he wouldn't want you to grieve, but remember him for his good works.
Brother Bill has made his final journey East, Godspeed my Brother.
