And so, the Journey Begins.......
A while back I stopped by a local Masonic lodge and picked up an
application. (I was really surprised at how many members I knew.)
Last week I dropped off the application and am now playing the waiting game.
You will enjoy it. Good luck!
Good things come to those who wait.
good luck.
I was suprised at how many names i recognized also.
I'm due for my 3rd degree this week and I'm not going to be secretive of my membership. I want people to ask me about it and i want to sponsor good men.
Congrats.....one of the best things I have done.
I just got done with the waiting game and was initiated last Tuesday. I like it more and more everyday. Great group of men....glad I did it.
Just had my home visit this evening.
Now I get to wait for a phone call...........
I just filled out my petition tonight. I'm really hopeful. I had the opportunity to hang out with some of the guys from the lodge tonight before their meeting and had a great time. They treated me like family. I can't wait (if I'm accepted) to be a part of such great guys.
It can truly be a life-changing (for the better) experience.

Having done my EA a few weeks ago I can greatly agree with this statement.

My only regret is the fact that I waited until I was middle aged to join. I should have done it at 21.
I am currently waiting on the phone call myself

Turned in my petition a few weeks ago.

I am in full agreement. I still fall on the younger side of the spectrum for the lodge though. It took several years of the daughters being invovled in Rainbow girls, the wife Eastern Star, and then by extension De Molay when my eldest was a chapter and state sweetheart for me to figure out this is something for me.
I look forward to going to lodge. Between different things we get together in some way at least once a week.

Don't feel "old"; I was 61 when I was raised! Better late - by a long shot - than never.
My life is so enriched by this fraternity, it's just hard to explain. Maybe that's why it's lasted so long.
I joined the Lodge in college and when I came home to my local Lodge....it was full of the men from my scout troop growing up!

Remember, you didn't really join the lodge as much as you became a Mason.

I'm an officer already, didnt you read my thread.
Beer, I had the appropriate avatars for each degree. Both under, then one over, now both over.
Cool. I read it as not raised yet. My bad.

I also mis-read the reply but it was posted on 6/18....my bad
To Speargun,
Good luck and congrats.
I was raised on July 12th and actually got to vote tonight on a buddy's petition to join....
It's a great journey and it WAS and WAS NOT what I expected.
But, it is all good and very thought provoking.
Today, I put a Texas Masons sticker on my truck and actually thought if I drive badly what message it would deliver about us.
Anyone else think this way?

All the time. Funny isn't it
Yes, people see you as a Mason, so be one.
Always, Always consider your conduct while in or out of the lodge...
I should have joined much earlier than I did. My Dad would have been able to raise me if I had not have waited.
It has definitely been a live changer for me in many very good ways. I have yet to see a down side to the Craft or where all this demonic BS comes from.
Less than 3 hours to go....

Uh-oh, that was 2 days ago and we haven't heard from him.
Did he just "fo"?
I "fo'd"

.....and survived.
Definitely a memorable experience and I didn't even make any mistakes.

Please use proper Arf-English:
You "fent".
Congrats, Brother!

Congrats, I was studying my FC last night for my next test........trust me it only gets better
I started my petition over a year ago, and was finally raised 3 months ago.
It took me a bit while I was going back and forth over seas and such, but I have taken the step forward.

Welcome, Brother!
Thanks for the welcome on brothers. Tonight is our monthly meeting and my start to get more actively involved.
