Wow, a dumb question answered by an actual intelligent answer.

That is, unless of course, their newspaper place is located in the middle of a highly populated downtown area that has little to no access to supplies
from nearby sources or holds its own........

LMFAO
I like the guy who said the battle ship was a horrible idea and would rather go to a walmart...
His reason... The battle ship would not have enough supplies to sustain... I'm gonna go ahead
and assume he's zed dinner on day 3...

The sea could sustain you for awhile foodwise

MORON. You can catch fish until the sea runs out, which would be never. The rest of his idea is pretty solid. Reminds me of the first Day by Day book.

Seriously people? The battleship would be my 3rd choice. It’s a nice safe place, but doesn’t have much for resources. Put me in Walmart. They have plenty of fresh water, food, ways to cook food, camping gear, transportation (bikes and scooter), easy access to ways to block everyone else out, a security system with camera, and most importantly GUNS AND AMMO!

Don't Navy ships have desalinators? As long as its kept up, it should last a long time. Camping gear? He gonna camp in Walmart? I'd rather sleep in a bunk on a Destroyer. Easy ways to block everyone else? Does he mean the Non-Zombies that will make every effort to destroy his little Wally World nest? The Guns, Ammo and food would be the first to go right along with the camping gear. I agree Solo, this guy is Zed food within 48-72 hours.

If you have to go anywere in the 1st 72hrs or a week for supplies during a outbreak then most likely you will also be infected.

I like this guy's response:

On January 17, 2012 at 1:36 pm Anthony wrote:

I guess "AK47" is now a caliber.

Based on where they are, I'm guessing the "Battleship" is the New Jersey which is tied up on the New Jersey side of the Deleware. It's a tourist attracton.

So it's going to have no food.

no working desalinization plant

no fuel (to work anything).

I'd be surprised if the toilets were working.

But as a stronghold it would be pretty damn good. One could always find a way to lower people to smaller boats - where they could go up/down the river in search of supplies.

ETA: I just found there is also a Wilmington, SC which has a battleship nearby as well. Same issues will apply I'm sure.

The Battleship that the website is talking about is the USS North Carolina which is a tourist attraction, and is tied up in Wilmington North Carolina.
