Group asks animal lovers to stand up for dog that was tortured, killed

When the suspect in a Washington County animal abuse case is in court Monday for his preliminary hearing, representatives with Bridge Home No-Kill Rescue will be there in force to show that mistreatment of animals should not be tolerated.
And they’re asking other animal lovers to join them.
“We want to stand up for animals who are being neglected, tortured or abused,” said Regina Isenberg, Bridge Home’s executive director. “We just feel like it cannot ever, ever happen again. This is one time too many. We, as a caring community, cannot let these kind of things go on. Those little lives mean something.”
Dustin Ricky Harrell, 21, Jonesborough, was arraigned last week in Washington County Sessions Court on charges of aggravated animal cruelty. According to court documents, Harrell allegedly repeatedly tortured the family dog, a Yorkie named Honey, over a four-hour period until the dog died.
Washington County Sheriff’s Department Investigator Jeff Miller wrote in court documents that Harrell told him he threw the dog down stairs several times, held it under water three times for approximately 20 seconds each time, and put the dog in the clothes dryer and turned on the machine for four minutes.
Isenberg said she was shocked when she read a news story about the dog and decided that Bridge Home needed to take a group of people to the court hearing. “There has to be someone speaking for the animals. I’m hoping we can accomplish something Monday,” she said. Isenberg said she hopes the group from Bridge Home can demonstrate to authorities that animal torture will not be tolerated. “This is the worst (animal abuse) case I’ve heard of in 20 years. This poor innocent puppy, what that dog went through in four hours, I cannot believe it,” Isenberg said. For more information, Isenberg can be reached at 239-5237.

I saw that thread but did not see the GSD or click the link. I just don't think I can take much more of this kind of shit.
I pray I never witness this kind of abuse, I really don't want to leave my family fatherless but I don't think I could control myself.
