Few months ago, we adopted this dog from her abusive and neglective family. She looks to be an anatolian sheperd and my vet agrees with this. I took her in because she needed a home and was only 50lbs or so. She's also best friends with my yellow lab. We are renting a house and can not add a fence. We live in a ratty neighborhood and have questionable neighbors that can cause a ruckus. Her protective nature mixed with no fence is getting to be a bad combo. I'm afraid she may get pushed into biting somebody and this is simply not good. She's a great dog but not for our current situation. I took her in and gave her a good home for a bit, now I need to get her a better home that I cannot be for her.

She is roughly a year old and weighs around 80 pounds. She is timid when you first meet her but warms up nicely. She is good with small kids but has not interacted much with them. She is very very very protective. I do not know if she would bite a tresspasser but they would be determined to do harm if they stay after confronted. If somebody comes within 50 yards of the house, you will know about it.

She likes to go on walks and run beside the ATV. She likes going after tennis balls in the pond but only if another dog is also going after it.

She's great with other dogs. She will play rough but is always friendly until the other dog isn't. If your dog is the type to start a fight and be mean, this dog will not react well. My female lab is the alpha in our house so dominance is not an issue with her.

She loves to lick you and your kids.

Now for The bad

She likes to roam. She will just disappear for a few hours with no clue where she goes. A fence or lots of land is a must.
She likes kids but likes to chase screaming kids. I'd suggest if you take her to let her adjust to your children and accept them as her family before they ride their bikes alot.
She may or may not chase your lawn mower. I worked on this alot but she's not 100%.
She has a prey drive that is insane! If you get her to be around chickens, expect a few to die before she learns her lesson.

UPDATE

The dog has gone to a new home out in the country. They have no neighbors, no cats or chickens. They have 2 boys 11 and 9 one is Autistic. They homeschool and work from home so she will always have people around. The boys love being outside so that will be great. She can herd and protect them all she wants.

Glad you were able to find her a good home, her new setup sounds pretty sweet from a dogs perspective
