First TEOTWAWKI book i read, which lead me to read "Patriots: A Novel of Survival in the Coming Collapse".
To be completely honest this book strait up scares me. It's about the very real threat America faces; the EMP strike. Newt Gingrich wrote the forward for this book, saying that of all the threats America faces, an EMP strike is the most plausible and would have the most profound consequences. It is also one of the easiest disasters to prevent, but because of the fact that it's a relatively unknown threat, very little has been done about it.
The book is centered around a small town in North Carolina. After all of the continental U.S is plunged into an irreparable black out, the people of the town must survive with no electricity and hordes of looters at their door step.
A good read.

Yeah this one really got to me. Very very real. Most of us don't think about how much of an issue food would be in a SHTF scenario. Anyone know any others like it? Other than Patriots...

Have you read "Lights Out"
I strongly recommend "One Second After" I have read "Lights Out" and its not bad but One Second After is a better read and much more thought provoking. I just finished the book this week and it has prompted me to rethink my prepping.
