 Did anyone ask FN....

If they are going to continue to sell the SCAR through the stupid dealer program that required them to buy a bunch of the crap no one wants? Or have they come to their senses and decided to just start selling it like all the other normal guns? I wonder if they realize that they have the chance to grab a bunch of sales since the ACR went full retard on price...

And how, exactly, is the SCAR NOT full retard on price also?

Never said it wasn't. But they're gonna be cheaper than the ACR at first.

Did your dealer have to purchase through the stocking dealer program?

I work for a distributor and we did have a VERY small number to sell from regular inventory last year, none so far this year.

No, got on backorder and they called at the end of the year. Haven't heard jack from another distb that we've been on the list with.

Why should some inbred noname dealer get the same access to a SCAR as FN stocking dealers and distributors who are more loyal to FN?

Maybe because a sale is a sale and if someone is willing to pay that much for their mediocre rifle then they should be willing to make that sale? Just a thought.

Who cares about who sells more rifles for one brand?

They should get in line just like everyone else, I don't support preferential treatment just because somebody spends more money.

+1. I agree with wizzo on this. A FFL holder is a FFL holder. Not every dealer can stock thousands of dollars worth of guns, so so he can sell a SCAR.

Why don't you come back and tell me that when you have $500,000 to $1,000,000 invested with FN and some dealer that deals $3,000 worth of FN stuff a year gets his SCAR first because a "sale is a sale"

"inbred noname dealer"? I'll take elitism from a non-team member for $24, Alex.

I like how you make sure to mention that he is "a non-team member" while calling him the elitist. Pot meet kettle... LOL

Dealers were getting pissed at FN because of the amount of crap they had to buy to get a SCAR and they still had to wait for one to be delivered... A lot of stuff wasn't a big seller, sure they could make a killing on the SCAR (when market price was way up there), but you'd have to deeply discount the other rifles/pistols to get rid of them.

Prices on the SCAR have come down because they are easier to get. I know of a shop that got (6) of them in one shipment.

I'm convinced a certain distributor is shipping them only to their high volume dealers, not matter how high you were on their back-order list. It may not be their policy, by the sale rep's are maybe favoring their higher volume customers.

At any rate it's a nice rifle... A few hundred over priced at dealer cost, but I'm happy with mine.

One nice thing, the SCAR-H is only $200 more than the "L", instead of a huge price difference you sometimes see between a 5.56 and 7.62 platform. I'll buy one.

If the dealers don't like it then they don't have to stock FN products.

Funny how that works.

If the company keeps fucking over dealers then no one will stock FN products. Funny how that works.

I agree, but that's up to FN. If they want to piss off their small dealers, then that's just what happens.

But saying that you don't support FN's dealer policies because they are "unfair to the little guy" is borderline communist.

Anyone invested in FN products to the tune of $500k - $1m is sitting on a bunch of immovable objects. Unless you're dealing MIL & LE lines you've got problems ahead.

Why else are they packaging the SCAR so aggressively.

You know FN lucked out with ACR pricing, just ask Hitler and see what he thinks.

I don't support FN because they ask $2400 for a rifle that should be $1500. Their products are good, but not worth what they ask. I'm not willing to chuck away more money for a rifle that offers nothing over my XCR or MSAR E4 just to have "ZOMG TEH UBER KEWEL TACITCAL SPESHUL FORCUS RIFEL!!!!!11!!!1!"

I'm a capitalist, but I know that if you screw people then no one will buy your product. Especially if you screw the end user/customer.

Shouldn't you be bashing the 556 somewhere? Thanks for your opinion. Do you have an actual answer to my question? No, ok, thanks for playing.

I have to problem telling you that.

Concidering I pay to use this sight, and you.....? Why don't you take some of the profit of your $1,000,000.00 is FN sales and pony up for a team membership.
Hell you should be a Gold member with all that $ you make just from FN sales. And with that...a "sale is a sale."

My local shop is an FN dealer, they had a SCAR a while back which sold within a day. However, they've had three FNARs and an FS2000 on the wall for about a year.

Which was the purpose for me asking the question before we got derailed by someone else. I was just wandering if FN was going to try and actually produce a good number of them now, and start selling them to all their dealers like they do all their other guns. If they don't, thats their decision, which I don't have to like. But I would like to shoot an FN, just not the crappy FS2000.
