meh...

I guess I will have to look at one when the local shop gets one. It doesn't speak to me the way a "real" revolver does...

Uglier than a Nagant.

Why reinvent the wheel(gun)? Reports indicate that the LCR is 1.5oz lighter than a S&W aluminum j-frame. Why not make the SP-101 in aluminum?

It's what the SP-101 should have been.

A little late to compete with the Centennal series by now.

However,.....maybe the price point will set it apart. Riiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiight!!!!

I'll be waiting for it to hit the store shelves before I make a decision. I actually like the looks of it.

I did read that it had a short ejector that didn't push the empty cases all the way out. Hopefully you can still flip the revolver with the cylinder open and dump the empties during a quick reload instead of having to pick them out 1 by 1.

If the price is good I may just pick one of these up.

I like it! It is so fugly, it is cute.

Looks like the grip shape will be more comfortable for me. Most wheel-guns hurt my hand any more.

I think Ruger has a winner here. Might take a little time for people to get used to the new design, as wheel-gunners tend to be a bit conservative.

Not me though! I got one of them new-fangled Model 1911s!

I may get one for the wife as she claims the sp-101 is too heavy for her to carry 24/7.

I'm trying to remember. What was the last new handgun Ruger came out with that didn't need a recall?

If the only handguns I had were 1911s, I wouldn't be all that upset.

My God, it looks like a cheap starter pistol! My S&W lightweight Scandium is still lighter at 12oz. It better be inexpensive...

MSRP Per Ruger website is $525 for the standard model, $792 for the Crimson Trace-equipped.

I held it and pulled the trigger a few times yesterday. Ugly? Sure. The key thing about this pistol is the trigger pull. Factory set at 10lbs, it has a cam design that has a "let off" very similar to a compound bow. Pretty cool and the trigger was very smooth. Didn't feel like 10lbs at all.

They have to have something to toot their horn, not sure that trigger is my criteria for owning one. One can do the same with a nice Smith/wolffs trigger spring change

I'm looking forward to buying one.. As a Ruger employee I got to handle a prototype quite a long while ago and it's been a long wait and I think they did thier homework on this thing and a lot of testing was done I have confidence that it will be a great little wheel gun.

I'm highly interested in this handgun, and I'm not normally a fan of wheelguns.

I guess you may be missing the point.

Its a different take on the revolver.

The trigger . . . . I was asked to guess its weight and I guessed 8lbs.

The rep said it was 10.

The trigger feels different.

Overall, I'm stayng with my Smith but I like this gun.

My choice for carry, a KAHR P45. If this thing gets one more person to carry or one more person to buy a gun, then Ruger has done a good job. Overall product quality will remain to be seen.
