I figure this is not one that i can play forever if i pick up on it but figured it would do as a starter and not a bad price...What do you guitar players think?
Fender starter kit
The guitar is OK but the amp is uninspiring. You can get much better sounds out of the guitar by going with any of
many different options including effects pedals, a different amp, or even something like a Line 6 Pocket Pod and headphones.
When you have a lively, interesting guitar tone, it helps keep you interested in playing.

That is exactly how I got started 2 years ago. Having fun with it still but did pick up an acoustic bout a year ago which really helped me get better and is much easier to bust out a the parties.

Yes i have a Nice Seagull that i bought last year. How did you do with this fender setup? Did you learn to play or i mean are you progressing well?
The quality on those Starcasters is kind of hit or miss. I've seen some that were pretty good, and others that had problems that should have never made it through QC. When you get it you should have a knowledgeable player check it out and make sure everything is in order. It should be someone who knows enough to do a basic set up for you including checking the action height and intonation.

This.
Those amps sound like they're made out of cardboard.
