Gabrielli Magnificant - ITG 2011
I'm not really into horns, but what I watched of it sounded good (not the best signal right now).

Meh. Typical of an ITG or NY Brass type conference. Too much of a good thing. They picked it just because they wanted as many trumpets crammed in at once. That is by no means Gabrielli's best work. If you want to hear Gabrielli done well, listen to the Summit Brass or the Canadian Brass "Brass in Berlin" (performed with the brass section of the Berlin Symphony...no Canadian Brass Schlock on this album). It is a hoot to play though. The bigger the cathedral the better. Years ago I got to play some in St. John the Divine in NYC. That was tits.
Some of us don't get too much of a good thing on a regular basis.
