What is the most enjoyable aircraft you have ever flown?
Simple question. What makes you smile the most?

Well, that makes it easy.

The only plane that I've gotten to actually to be at the controls in flight was an F-15D, so it gets my vote!
I can tell you my least...the ERJ. Not a really well designed airplane, and not intended to have any decent flying qualities.
The only aircraft that I have flown was a T-6 "Texan".
The whole adventure was a gas.
Almost 3 hrs in block 40 F-16C's. Two incentive rides as an airman!
i dont have a license, but dad use to have one of these that i use to fly in
Twin-Bo was nice, except for he noise.
I really like the Caravans I fly now. The are a hell of a good all around machine. And I get paid to do it.
Not a pilot, lost interest when my eyes went bad in the 8th grade. Crushed my dreams of following in my fathers footsteps of being a career AF fighter pilot, however he had one of these (factory paint job):
And we would tear up the countryside in it and I had a bunch of hours "flying" it.
Hm...hard to say, but I think the flight I'd like to repeat again was a ride in a F-15D.
Huey low-levels and T-6A advanced aero are a blast too.
Lear 24D, it has 10,000fpm vertical speed indicators for a reason

Sat right seat in one from Fairbanks to Shungnak ... good time.
I really liked flying the Skylane.

One of the coolest things I ever saw from a civilian airplane was a Lear 24 take off from KMIA with just the flight crew on board... The pilot rotated, got the gear and flaps up by mid field, and held 25 feet until the end of the runway, where he pulled it back into what had to be a 45° climb. It was like an F-15 with a cabin.

L-4B followed by a 180J.

I live near CAFB and T6s are an everyday happening. I fish on Tombigbe river in line with the runway and T1s, T38s and T6s are overhead all the time.
First post and all that.
My '65 Skylane was just the tits.
Like a pick-up truck, would carry anything you could get thru the doors,
stable IFR platform, not bad on fuel, -mogas for the win, long range.
Of course, the C-140 and Supercub I learned in will always have a special spot for me.
PA-18 with floats. What a blast to land on water!!
It's a tie for me. I miss my 207 and my buddies J-3.
L-1011.
Super Decathlon. I was hard going back to my usual PA-28 180.

I agree, going from that to an A-36 bonanza had more than one wtf moment.
B1900 or DHC8
Barons are a really nice flying twin.
T-34Bs for a light single.
2002 PA-44
The last one I got out of and the next one I'm getting in; a Geronimo conversion Apache (last out of), a Twin Commander 690 (next to get into)
But the first part of the post IS true: I truly love the last plane I fly and can't wait to make the next one that way!
Taylorcraft BC-12D
My Cessna 310L. I have been in love three times in my life, and she was one.
Lancair IV-P
172 on EDO Straight Floats.
Best flying I've ever done

I think the Van would still be my favorite in this case as well.
In order of enjoyment:
E-120 Brasilia
Citation XL
CRJ-700
Most Enjoyable
GV
.83 climbs to FL470
Direct to FL410 with full tanks (basically)
Vref of 110-115
Can fly above the Nat's
Least Enjoyable
GV
13 Hour legs that the boss likes to double up for West Coast to S. Africa flights
Small cockpit
Rides like a covered wagon rolling over boulders
Autothrottles like to test Mmo/ Vmo if you let them
I do miss the E120.....
I've only flown 8 different and they're all ASEL, but out of that group I'd have to say that the Liberty XL2 was the most "pure fun".

I like the power and utility of the 182, but it's like flying a pickup truck, too. I think 172s are a lot more fun.
I'm a couple hours into getting checked out in a 7AC, so it's my favorite right now.
T-37 was fun up above 10,000 when the A/C started working.
The guy that owned the FBO I worked at in college had an old Navion that was a blast to do cross-country flights in.
Bell 47
I will be honest. OH58D
Flies like a dream, and shooting rockets and .50cal is more fun that I could have hoped.

RV-3 w/IO360.

I'm not an actual pilot, although I have had some instruction. I've flown a Grumman Yankee, a 152, and 2 different IV-P's.
One was a family friend's, which was nice. The other was a factory demo over Oshkosh. The IV'P's had a lot of power and seemed much more manuverable compared to what I'd flown before. It was interesting flying with a side stick, but once I stopped thinking about the diffrerences and just thought about where I wanted to go, it became very easy.
It was also very comfortable.
In order from best to worst:
Harrier GrMk5
A-10A
F-117A
T-38A/B
Harrier GrMk3
Hawk TMk1A
T-37
ERJ
Anything with those unducted fan thingies hanging off the front of the engine
Martin Baker Mk10 (very rough ride, but glad it worked

)

So do you really get a patch and/or neck-tie from MB?

Yep! It's navy blue with the ejection triangle symbol on it. I had occasion to jettison one of Her Majesty's Hawks at RAF Brawdy. I think at one point there were like 5 or 6 of us with them in No 1(F) Squadron, when I was there in the late 80s.

Have a friend who flew the Harrier in the Marine Corp. Said he really enjoyed flying it, but you never took your eye off it. Also said he lost a few friends who were flying the Harrier.
vmax84
Even with nearly 9,500 hours I haven't flown a lot of different types.
CRJ 200/700/900
EMB120
C150/152/172/172RG
PA-28s 150-200HP Cherokees- Arrow IVs
Beech Sundowner
PA-34 Seneca 1s
Grumman Tiger
And an hour in a Citabria.
Plus - about 10 minutes at the controls of the Goodyear Blimp!
The RJ accounts for over 8000 hours of my time. The 700 is the best out of the three. I'd say the Arrow IV or Beech Sundowner were the favorites out of the GA stuff.

I'm guessing it was a D model unless they just handed you the keys. Good deal!

In order of fun.
C-130j
C-90 king air
T-6 Texan ii ( probably could have had a lot more fun in this one if it wasn't as stressful––UPT)
You guys are probably sick of me posting this picture, but this is my answer. I have over 100 hours in these and have flown one from Boca Raton to Seattle.
