Where to well Cessna 140 parts?
My father as a 1946 Cessna 140 that has not been flown in roughly 25 years. It was stored in a hangar, and mice used it for a home for most of the time I see. A guy at a local airfield said the aluminum was in bad shape because of the mouse pee and the corrosion it caused. However, there are still alot of good parts that could be sold. Also, the wings and frame are straight, so are still useful to someone I suppose.
Where is the best place to post these parts to sell them? Obviously shipping the fuselage would be pain, so are there any Georgia forums or anything like that with an ACTIVE "for sale" section?
Thanks in advance.
A post in Trade-A-Plane would be a good start.
I thought I saw aircraft related posts on our Equipment Exchange? How much you asking for the lot including airframe? Sounds like a great project.
Barnstormers, Trade A Plane, the Cessna 140 Association, and the bulletin boards at the airports in your area.
The airplane will easily sell when the price is right. There are also a few salvage yards around the country that will buy the airplane. I would give the enthusiasts a crack at it first.
If you put this airplane up for sale, be patient as it may take a few months to sell.
Barnstormers, its way cheaper than tradeaplane and IMHO better.
Barnstormers is a good recommendation. I am interested in a 140 project, so PM me if you decide to sell it as I am just a couple of states over.
skyking and retroangles,
Thanks for the advice from everyone.
