It will be interesting to see whether any of the enhanced F-15 features (ala'F-15 SE) are included in these new airplanes, or if they were even made avaialble.
I'd suspect they weren't.

Well they didn't get the good ones with the leather seats or Bose surround sound.

This is excellent news. The buy is larger than they considered originally, and their investment in redesign of various parts to remove manufacturing cost will benefit the airplanes for other customers down the road.
Silent Eagle in its various formats was a stupid proposal at first, and only rediculous after the "low observable" claim was scaled waaaay back after the
flag was raised.
That is not the airplane you want. What you do want is an airplane with lots of computational power to process signals for an AESA, and you want that conformal tank full of gas.

Thats ok. Iran's F-4's will make short work of them.
They'll never suspect that the guy in the back seat of the F-4 is using a pair of bino's to spot them and shoot'em down. Total stealth there!

Bit of F-15 trivia: there was a time when some Eagles actually had commercial rifle scopes mounted in them next to the HUD. I remember reading an article a long time ago about it and they showed an HIANG F-15A with a Tasco scope mounted next to the HUD. Anyway, image and link with more info below.

Yep! I've personally seen the cockpit of a MA ANG jet that had a riflescope mounted on the HUD, it looked straight up ghetto. This was probably in the late 90's.
