I just ordered a five-pack of Alec Bradley Prensado Churchills, the Cigar Aficianado Magazine's 2011 Cigar of the year.

Has anybody here tried them?

I really liked several of the other cigars in the top 10, so I figured the Prensado would blow me away.

It did, but not in the way I expected.

Did I ever tell you about the time Slavac sent me one that was supposed to be totally awesome and I found a FREEKIN TREE TRUNK in the middle of the thing....biggest "vein" or stem I have ever seen in a cigar......reminded me of a rip cord!!!
Would not burn and once it started....well after all the rest of the tobacco around it....BITTER, NASTYASS...couldn't even call it a flavor.

Shit!

I guess it would have been a better idea to ask here first.

Thanks, guys

Should be fun to see how I like them.

You shouldn't really listen to anyone else when it comes to cigars.

You have to try it yourself before you'll know whether it's good or not.

Who knows, you may have found your "grail" cigar!

Oh, I understand that, but I just assumed that everyone would be raving about them.

I like Macanudo Hampton Court Robusto, but people smirk, giggle and poiint their fingers when you say that you like Macanudos.

I also like lots of others, that's why cigars are such fun.

In the future try to avoid 'Top 100' cigar type lists. With CA, it's whichever company has spent more on advertising for that year gets the top cigar.

Your best bet is to look at the 'what are you smoking now' thread and see what folks are enjoying currently.

Well, I've had more since then....just had the Prensado a few months back when I was trying out a bunch of different types to see what I liked.

I prob smoke about 2-3 cigars a week. Not a whole lot, but just enough....for now.

On a break right now as I just had oral surgery, so working on setting up the humidor and stocking it so I will be ready to go when all is healed up.
