Is no longer on my list of favorites. They taste like shit and won't stay lit to save my ass. What the hell happened to them?

I have only had a few I would buy again. I enjoy the Sun Grown more than any of them. They are in the Ghurka catagory for me.

I was trying to smoke an Olde World Reserve Maduro and it constantly went out. I just threw it off the balcony. I just haven't had much luck with them lately. And this sucks because I was a huge fan of RP for years. Going to smoke a Kristoff now.

Patel has always been in the good not great category. Some of their smokes are still quite good but overall I'd say they've slipped down hill.

Which is disappointing as Mr. Patel is really a great guy from what I saw in person.

Rocky is quickly becoming the next Gurkha

I used to love RP cigars, still enjoy Decades, Edge (especially Sumatra) and the Signature series ones are surprisingly good for the price.

The 90's and 92's are okay. Haven't tried anything else recently though.

ETA edge lite? You like cigars that are infused with tar and you smoke the edge lite? That thing's like smoking a bit of hay that's been through 3 filters.

Best I've ever had was a '99 Connecticut, the day before the first symptoms of H1N1. Getting sick has always changed the flavor of tobacco for me, but it made that cigar amazing.

The Edge line is the only RP product I've ever tried and liked. Still not a first choice, but not bad.

The last few RP's I have had, have gone full gurkha on me. Going out, blowing up, bad taste etc. I finally got a decade last night that actually lasted. Other than the decade, I think i am done purchasing them. Being on a tight budget right now, I dont want to be spending money on smokes that I cant get half way through.

Don't say that! They're my favorite sticks!

I haven't even thought about trying a new RP release in a long time....here's why:


IMO, he's over saturating the market with a new blend every time you turn around, just like Gurkha does.

When you keep releasing blends that are only OK, folks are reluctant to try the next....people become sceptical to try the latest one if the last blend wasn't pretty good

And when you release one blend after another, most are bound to range in the OK- Dog Rocket range....the chances of a great stick are going to be slim to none.

Was never a huge fan. Had a couple good sticks, Vintage 90 was okay & Sun Grown was pretty good, but that's about it. I've seen & had one myself end up looking like a loaded cigar not even half way through.

Only RP I generally like are the Edge Corojo & Sumatra.
If you're a maduro fan, another good one is RP signature
from Famous. Had some from a sampler, very good, cheap too! :)

Ditto. Every time I turn around, there's a new RP out. That tells me either A) they're making way too much by using less than premium tobacco or B) they're all the same damn thing, just with different bands.
