If you plan on aging or trying to deal with high temps/humidity, you may find that a wine fridge converted into a humidor may be the answer for you.
You replace the wire racks with shelves or drawers made of Spanish cedar and wala...you have a kick ass humidor that is temperature and humidity controlled.

The temp is easy....most are digital or dial set.
Humidity is a little more difficult in that you have to actually do something...

Most find that a couple bags of beads do the trick.
Others like me chose to add an Oasis or Hydra device....and beads....

Others simply plugged the drain hole and did nothing else and are rewarded with a 65/65 environment....location of the device and geography play the biggest role.

Now....Craig's list, EBay, your local paper or CompactAppliance.com can be your source for say and EdgeStar 28 bottle....in the open box or scratch-dent area for around $130.00 SHIPPED....
Trays and drawers....Chasidor.com, CheapHumidors.com or Wineador.com.

But as you guessed.....the slope is ice covered and you are sitting on a runner sled....the slightest move forward will send you plummeting over the edge into the abyss.....it's OK....you can join us at the bottom!

you may not have this problem in WV
but down here to keep 65f/65%
its either run the A/C constantly or pay a ton of money for electricity in the summer
or just buy a wine cooler
keeps 65/65 and doesnt cost hardly anything to run in the summer

I had to get one when one day the temp in my humidor said 83 degrees
