We've got three new bits of streaming video posted, only on the web.

My thoughts about the big spike in gun sales across the country, that's happening for a number of reasons, the problem of "phantom orders" for manufacturers and the flood of new members joining the NRA.

Have a look, then post your thoughts on the subjects.

It's not that good.

And you may not agree.

Then the fun begins.

I liked the "A bayonet lug in case you need it ,which of course you don't" delivery.

Jim,
Your a great spokesman for us!
Although, I'd advise the manufacturers to build those "phantoms" now! Or, they may not have the 'permission' to make and sell later...

Thanks for all you do!

Jim,

Great job in bringing it down to the basics. I think your phantom buyer scenario makes a point, but is there another buyer out there for those phantom orders who just doesn't know it yet? On every forum I've been to new people are coming on daily to tell about their soon to be banned high capacity handguns and rifles.

It's also true that there's a lot of whining about "price gouging" that I've tried to address on the forums, and you kind of metioned it in your discussion about how prices are rising because of market forces.

It would be great if you also covered that topic with the same professionalism to dispell the growing myth that all local gun dealers are out to gouge their customers due to the high demand for guns right now. We owe it to ourselves to keep the industry healthy and growing.

Thanks again Jim for some great work.

Here's a piece of intel from the SHOT Show:

One manufacturer of ARs told me he currently has 100,000 back orders for his products.

Working 24/7 his people can assemble and ship 2,500 rifles per week.

That's 40 weeks to catch up, if there are no additional orders... which, of course, there will be.

This situation added to the fact the State Dept has pretty much eliminated the exporting of any firearms or parts to Canada has put us in the same situation.
The bright side of this story for us is..it's a great opportunity for Canadian manufacturers..
It was great to finally meet you Jim.

Jim,
Awesome, cool, amazing, and very informative stream!!!
You have calmed me down, and I hope you are right about the new president's abilities, and schedule with regard to doing anything to our 2nd amendment rights, but just in case, I procured the 3 carbines I've been wanting for some time now, and with those purchases ends my gun safes ability to house any more amenities . So now, I can take my time and pay cash for a new Liberty Lincoln (41), to fill up with fun and freedom!, while I dream of new goodies
to learn and find out about.
I sure enjoy Wednesdays, please keep up the good work !!

You put it in perspective in a way everyone can understand, I have noticed in the past week or two many people coming around to this type of thought process and the letter from the 65 Blue Dog Dems. to the A.G will surely help slow down the panic buying. Keep up the good work Jim Mike

Jim, Thanks for the video blogs. I sure hope you are right about Obama.

I was so impressed with the blogs that I had to join this site, and this is my first post, so I could say thanks.

I am also a fan of AR-15's and am hoping to build one this year. I do not own one at all and have never fired one so I am looking at this site for info and have been happy with what is available. I do carry concealed daily and practice as much as possible.

Keep up the great work. I really enjoy the show and watch every week and/or online.

Brian

p.s. sign me up for that cruise you posted about.

Had not heard about the letter from the 65.

But I am watching the press start the post Columbine blitz of Gun Violence coverage. Ala "Nightly News" Saturday night. 20/20 coming up this week.

In the adds stating the "Epidemic of gun violence". "Proliferation"

Hell blaming the USA for the issues in Mexico. While not even looking into the possibility that those were weapons given to the Mexican military and 'sold'.

It is a concerted effort to sway public opinion. And to then pressure the marginal congressmen. The effort is just ramping up on their part. It will start to be deafening.

We've all seen the increased number of firearm sales, especially in the "assault weapon" category. We've all seen the manufacturers backup, 8 weeks out, etc. The scary thing for me now is the fact that I cannot find ANY handgun ammunition, nor 22 long rifle ammo in stock ANYWHERE. All the retail stores locally are selling out within 2 hours of putting their shipment on the shelves. Last week it was a madhouse, fighting the lines for that one last chance to pick up an AR-15 from the shelves. Today it seems a person is more likely to hit the lotto than to find food to feed our rifles and carry pieces. I would have never dreamed that I could not get a bulk pack of Federal 22LR. Maybe it's time to stop "plinking and practicing." And hearing stories of an ammunition accountability act and manufacturers either possibly stopping production for civilians or not reloading and sending brass scrap to China really doesn't help my positive outlook on where this is all heading.

Also, I would like to thank the nutcases in New York, Pennsylvania, California, Washington state, and all other places in the States for making us law-abiding citizens look like uneducated murderers or terrorists. It's bad enough the way things are now, the least act of violence involving a firearm just really hoses the rest of us and I believe diminishes our future rights. We need to be able to legally and responsibly protect ourselves from people like this. It seems we are losing that option at a very high rate.

Everyone said he would move to the center. We are heading to a 2-trillion dollar deficit and I am still waiting for him to move anywhere but further left.

+1 to both of you.

""News" Media Trying To Wag The Dog On Gun Control: President Obama, Sen. Dianne Feinstein (D-Calif.), House Speaker Nancy Pelosi (D-Calif.) and Attorney General Eric Holder are downplaying gun control, at least for the time being. But the so-called "news" media have begun hammering away on guns with the same intensity they did in the early 1990s, when the outcomes of the Brady bill and "assault weapons" debates were still undecided. Yah that 20/20 his piece was soo lopsided. how the hell does Stossil(sp?) stay w crap like that. They totally lied about the facts and figures he has done on there. And the local media here in KC is doing the same.
