Immigration - how it should work!

In the first place, we should insist that if the immigrant who comes here in good faith becomes an American and assimilates himself to us, he shall be treated on an exact equality with everyone else, for it is an outrage to discriminate against any such man because of creed, or birthplace, or origin. I remember reading this back in school, it still moves me, but today I also get sad/mad because we have fallen so far. Is allegiance to the flag even taught in our schools anymore?

If one were to believe in conspiracies. You could be led to believe that people in positions of power want to remove all national loyalty. It would much easy to rule citizens with a world government after removing all their loyalties to state and country. But that's just for conspiracy nuts.

Just a few pages I saw online. Wanted to read the ones he's had out, but always seem to get sidetracked. Which one are you referring to? I like to read as many sides of the story as I can.

Closing in on sixteen years ago, I married a Canadian. I was born in the US and have lived here my whole life.
She is a Resident Alien. Getting her green card literally took our congressman stepping on the toes of the INS until they released her ID after four years.
DHS has only made slight changes to the process, such as electronic fingerprinting and 'one stop shopping' for fee payment.
With luck we'll solve our fight with the IRS over our 2009 taxes so we can spend another $680 and get her citizenship finished off.

You do realize there is one hell of a disparity in treatment by the federal govt when it comes to illegal Hispanic immigrants and those from European countries.
They are liable to turn the Hispanics loose where they caught them but imprison the illegal Europeans before they deport them in a timely fashion.
