Best Dirty Harry Movie?
Which one and why
EDIT My Favorite is Magnum Force: A mans gotta know his limitations
I like the original best because Andrew Robinson plays a great bad guy.
Sudden Impact but "I gotts to Know"...

First one...

but like them all...
The original is still my favorite.
The movie with the LAW's in it.
Dirty Harry should carry a LAW, not a .44.

That would be the Enforcer
Magnum Force. Lots of star power plus nude Suzanne Somers.

I totally forgot about her
The first one, although Magnum Force had the classic, "A man should know his limitations", line.

Andy Robinson made "Dirty Harry" the best.
However, "Magnum Force" was my favorite.
I liked them all, but The Enforcer had some of the best lines in any Dirty Harry movie. That panel interview after Harry is assigned to personnel ("that's for assholes") is priceless.
Dirty Harry the original.
"now you got to be asking yourself "did he shoot six times, or only five"...hehe you know to tell you the truth with all this excitement I kinda lost count myself, but this being the 44 magnum, the most powerfull handgun in the world and would take your head clean off.........you got to be asking yourself "do I feel lucky"......well do ya punk?"
"man........I just gots to know"
"CLICK"

The first 2 are are the class of the field. I'll go with Magnum Force by a hair over DH, though I could go with either one really.

The original, is well, the original, but I liked Sudden Impact too because of the Automag
BTW some interesting trivia, the African-American actor Albert Popwell was in 4 of the 5 Dirty Harry movies.
The next four occasions were in several of the highly popular "Dirty
Harry" films, firstly as wounded bank robber at the receiving end of
Eastwood's now legendary, "Do you feel lucky punk ?" speech in the
opening minutes of
Dirty Harry
(1971). He was back as a sadistic pimp murdering a greedy call girl
with a can of drain cleaner before being executed by a vigilante
motorcycle cop in
Magnum Force
(1973), and he was still on the wrong side of the law as a militant
"Black Power" styled activist named "Big Ed" Mustapha in _Enforcer, The
(1976/I). For his final appearance alongside Eastwood, Popwell was on
the right side of Clint for once as a fellow detective in
Sudden Impact (1983).

Yes!!
I voted Dirty Harry as my favorite, but really any one of the first 3 are great.
BUT, my favorite scene of all the movies is the hot dog scene at the beginning of Sudden Impact.

Along a similar line, the man that played Scorpio Andy Robinson in Dirty Harry I is also an acting professor at USC(most likely retired by now), but he did a real bone chilling portrayal of that character. None of the subsequent Dirty Harry movies moved me like the 1st one.
BTW: Several actors also got their start after appearing in the Dirty Harry sequels.
