However, I would buy the DVD from Amazon...

Yes, I watched a 'borrowed' copy.
It is ok but they tried to squeeeze a whole season worth of story into two hours. Plus Desslok - the cool, main enemy - is virtually non-existant. So like Star Trek TMP, the film is lacking a charismatic villain and falls flat because of it.
Frankly, it is an entertaining movie - if you find it in the bargain bin at walmart.

Yep I liked it, but it seemed more like a two hour episode on Battlestar Galactica Japan
Not focusing on Desloc and the Gamalons ruined the whole thing

I watched a borrowed copy as well.
I give it a solid 8/10
You can tell it was a bit of a budget production but you could also see that very nice effort was put into that budget.
