Hey I was on the treadmill and Netflix streaming sucks

Anyway this was an atrocious revenge fantasy film for twentysomething moody loners. A twentysomething guy who lives in his parent's cellar and spends his time doing push ups and listening to his loser friend's OWS type youtube rants decides to buy body armor off the net (much of which looks suspiciously like an Airsoft face mask and knock off Blackwater assault vest). So after some boring stuff with his parents trying to get him to get his own apartment and a few incidents where he acts like a deranged lunatic and becomes angry at towns people over miner incidents (I admittedly fast forwarded through most of this) he finally gets around to going on his killing spree.

I had to look this up I admit but armed with a HKMP7 and a Ruger MP9 (never heard of it, thought it was an Uzi derivitive, turns out it is) he goes on a killing spree after blowing up the police station. I guess the "director" has made his living making bad movies based on video games (there's a "Postal"? movie?). The video game basis is pretty obvious because the little cellar dwelling ass weasel never misses as he walks around shooting everyone in town and when he is attacked he's completely fearless and has no trouble taking on the cops etc. Despite the murderer being portrayed in a bad light and a few attempts at irony and humor this really comes across mostly as an attempt to pander at the kind of way too much video game playing loser who has these thoughts in the back of his head. Spare yourself, the "twist" doesn't save this movie.

Spoiler button does seem to be busted <BA>

The "twist" is that the murderer gets away with it. He frames his buddy who did the youtube rants, killing him to make it look like a suicide and putting the body armor on the corpse, then making off with a bag full of money stolen from a bank. Completely implausible as hes' the wrong height, he left burned evidence in a burn barrel that would be found, even though he did have the armor delivered to his buddy.

I saw it awhile back and that sounds about accurate to me....and now I don't feel like such a dip for not knowing how to use the spoiler tag.

I thought it was amusing how he was making "bulletproof" scale-mail out of poprivited plastic strips.

What he did with the money though... burning the fake cash after 'invisibly' swapping it with the real cash... he used the power of eye-witnesses well. Well, as long as he got all the fake money to burn thoroughly.
Other than that, yeah... it sucked. I think I only made it all the way through as a test of my endurance.

I'm sure forensic testing would show the difference in the paper, but that was clever.

With a bank full of customers swearing that they watched him dump the cash in the can then light it, how deeply would they really look? Its not like the plastic strips in 20's would survive the fire...

Big killing spree like that the feds would definitely send in a team to do stuff like forensics on the burned money and find the other trash barrel with burned clothes.

Rampage is the best Uwe Bol has ever put out. Allow that some time to sink in, and take note to avoid all of his other films.

I thought Rampage was OK for what it is. Unrealistic and all, but still OK to watch.

ETA: Spoiler

The shooter also has all firearms, ammo, etc deliverd to his friends house to further frame him.

Bank robberies cost the government money! Banks are backed by Federal guarantee against robbery. So, you can bet they will investigate the shit out of something like this! You kill that many people and rob a bank, you are costing the government money and they hate that, you can bet that they will find you! And this movie was ok, good mindless entertainment.

Max Headroom's agent probably didn't get a Christmas card that year.
