It was the population of the major American cities COMBINED, not just L.A.
Sad, but its a very touchy subject. I think abortion is wrong, but I have no control over how to stop it, & I don't believe the government can stop it simply by making it illegal.
If there were no abortion clinics, there would be back alley abortions being performed by unskilled & dangerous individuals.
This is like the made up "gun epidemic".... If there were no guns, people would still be killing eachother. History has proven that.
But at least you are trying something.

It is even more "sad" when living and viable human being, as of yet unborn, are torn to pieces with scalpels, poisoned and burned horribly by potent chemicals while in the womb, or have a pair of scissors snip their spinal column in late stage abortions. This isn't just "sad," this is terribly painful to developed babies who have nerve endings.
Recent sonograms show how babies in the womb try desperately to avoid being suctioned out of their mother's womb and be torn to pieces....
A mother's loving body and womb...the cradle of life...now transformed into a slaughterhouse!
If these cruel procedures were done to a stray dog, cat, or say––a pet horse––why you would have your local Humane Officer and the US Humane Society all over you. You would go to jail for animal cruelty!!!

Nabil Ghali was an abortionist in Cleveland in 1995 who had is license revoked for botching numerous abortions. I know because I was involved in a lock-in at his killing mill and had a very brief stint in jail due to it. He had lost his license in Florida, Kentucky, New York, California, and then Ohio for botching abortions leading to women's injuries and deaths and for sexually molesting his 14y.o. goddaughter. His license was revoked in Ohio in the late 80s and he lost his final appeal in 1993. in 1995, he was performing abortions without a license, which is why we staged a lock-in at his death mill. He was responsible for the deaths of at least two women, and botched abortions on even more.

What exactly does "back alley abortion mean?" It was a euphemism created by pro-abortion activists to further their cause. The doctor who couldn't advertise for abortions would let women in through the back door of their clinic to perform abortions. Before Roe v. Wade, they performed abortions secretly and illegally, using the exact same techniques, tools, and chemicals that they did after Roe v. Wade. The only difference was that they could now hang a sign out front to advertise it legally.
Abortion clinics are not regulated in the vast majority of states, and in the few that have passed laws requiring abortion facilities to be regulated the same as outpatient surgical centers (that is what they are, after all), Planned Parenthood, NARRAL, and the National Abortion Federation has fought tooth and nail to prevent clinics from being regulated with basic health safety codes. Why??? Because they know so many will be shut down for the filth and unsafe practices that do on there.

He was a pro-life champion while a self-professed "Jewish Atheist" and helped shed light on the abortion industry since he had been in the middle of it.

Bit of a difference... The animal has no control over what is being done to it, which is why it would be animal cruelty. The human made a choice to abort its fetus, while cruel & stupid, I would still have no control over the action from taking place without actually kidnapping that mother to be.
I think education is the best form of prevention here.

I think education is the best form of prevention here.
I agree that education is important. This is an issue that will only change at the grassroots level by changing hearts and minds. The legislation to gradually restrict abortions will come slowly after that.
However, I would make 2 points here regarding the analogy presented. One is that many abortions are forced by boyfriends/husbands/rapists or parents of the pregnant woman and/or coerced by "counselors" or other abortion workers. So in that sense, many women feel they have no control over what is done to them.
The other point is that the fetus himself is analogous to the animal. He has absolutely no choice in being dismembered, burned, etc and suctioned from his mother's womb. And that is something what would not be tolerated if done to an animal.
To someone who is anti-abortion, there are 2 people to consider when a woman becomes pregnant. Each of them are equal in dignity and equally endowed by their Creator (not by their government or their mother or anyone else) by the right to life liberty and the pursuit of happiness.

I can understand why people use the argument you have above. There is only mention of the woman's body parts - her uterus, her cervix.
However, this description is missing one extremely critical point. The other body. One with its own unique DNA. How about this:
First, we will start by inserting a suction tube into the uterus, at which point the arms, legs, feet, hands, bones and organs, including a once-beating heart, functioning nervous system and lungs, of the fetus will be sucked into the tube and thrown away. Since the head of your child is too big to be vacuumed away, the doctor will then use tongs to crush the head of the baby so it can be removed piece by piece. Then, in order to ensure there are no bone fragments or body parts left behind, we will attempt one final vacuuming of your uterus.
Why does someone else person get control of that body, when by your logic, no one should control what someone else does with his or her own body??

murder is illegal, our government tells us we're not allowed to do it, do people still do it? they sure do! does that mean murder should just be legal because sometimes its more convenient to kill someone? plenty of dead beat and criminal children out there who will grow up to be lowlifes, should it be legal to kill them for the good of society? abortion is just getting them early, whats the difference? there seems to be a total disconnect for many between what is the mothers "body" and what is the child's body. I find it pretty arbitrary to say new life doesn't begin for a week, month, year after fertilization, hell i came out of my mother, im from her body i guess im "her body" so she should have the right to destroy me.
