JUST CONSIGNED!!

DALE EARNHARDT INC. CHASSIS NUMBER ONE! 1998 AC DELCO # 3 MONTE CARLO

NOT A COPY, NOT A REPLICA! IT IS THE ORIGINAL CAR!

Built by Dale Sr. and driven by Dale Jr. !( per the seller )

We have just been consigned the ACTUAL, ORIGINAL 1998 AC Delco # 3 Monte Carlo NASCAR race car that is reported to be the 1st chassis built by Dale Earnhardt Incorporated. The frame is marked DEI 01 10 98 in several places ( see picture in gallery ). This is the same car that Dale Earnhardt Jr. was driving when he won his first two championships, back to back in 1998 & 1999! Dale Jr. won 17 races in an Ac Delco badged car!

After Dale Jr. the car was then given to Michael Waltrip by Dale Earnhardt Sr. in exchange for him to drive one of the DEI cars in the 2001 Daytona 500. Waltrip won the Daytona 500 with Dale Jr. coming in 2nd. Michael Waltrip then raced the DEI 01 car in the Nationwide Series with one win and all top five finishes. The car still has the name Buffy on the dash.

DEI 01 was then sold to Baker Curb Racing where Brad Baker raced the car with success. Michael Waltrip, having realized the cars potential, tried to purchase the DEI 01 car back but the car was not for sale at that time.

The DEI 01 car was retired in 2003 by Baker Curb Racing and then put on display at their race headquarters until it was purchased by a local South Texan in early 2012.

The DEI 01 car was driven through the Texas Mile this year and is capable of speeds up to 266 miles per hour. The car has a 358 sbc Hutter Race Engine putting out 953 hp at 9500 rpms, a 4 speed Jericho Racing transmission, Ford 9" rear, Mark Williams rear chunk, Detroit Lockers and 2.86 gears. The link below will allow you to see and hear the engine running, this is actual footage taken by ELCO:
