What do you think about these stocks...and how to distribute my money?
I've been researching a bunch of stocks and made a list of about 50 of them, mainly dividend stocks. I have about $2k right now, maybe a little bit more. I'll figure it out this week. These are the stocks I'm looking at:
INTC-$22.05
RAI-$37.72
T-$27.85
CHK-$26.69
MRK-$31.05
POT-$45.56
TOT-$42.44
I based my decisions on a number of things, looking at the coverage ratio, debt ratio, cash king margin, ratio of dividends paid vs cash flows, buy ratings, and recent news. All the ratios are very good on all of them besides CHK and TOT, and that's just because CHK has the big Utica Shale they've invested in and TOT has some other investments that should be coming together soon. How do these look for those who know more? And how should I allocate my money to each? Also, I currently am holding VTV and 3 funds from T Rowe Price (Balanced, Capital Appreciation, GNMA). Should I hold on to some of these as well?
I trade in and out of CHK and POT. The natural gas industry has suddenly become a victim of it's own success as far as prices go. Most of what I buy in that area are royalty trusts that pay out dividends. ECT is something I am buying a little of on dips, but not too much. I'm still not all that sure of it compared to some of the other, more established ones. What I'm really waiting for somebody to build an export LNG facility for the eastern/mid atlantic shale gas.
