I have been looking around online and found apmex... What have you guys heard and seen with them.

Are they reliable. I am thinking about getting some 1 or 10 oz bars and maybe some coins here and there.

Thanks in advance for the advice.

Good Day,

SS

http://www.goldshark.com

They don't sell anything. They compare prices and ratings of various vendors.

Please send me 5% of what you saved via Goldshark.

APMEX has always come through for me. They may not be the cheapest but, I don't want to jump through the different hoops some cheaper dealer want you to jump through. Dealing with APMEX is very easy.

Which Mexican coins specifically?

You can't go wrong with 1 oz silver coins from the mint. Could be SAEs, Maples, Philharmonics, etc.

I thought that darn website had huge stocks of stuff, but apparently not, unless they limit the amount of sale items they sell, especially when the price of silver is down.

I just found www.gainesvillecoins.com and they offer some older coins and sunshine mint 1oz coins for around $32 each, which is much closer to spot then APmex is offering.

I really am tempted to buy silver at the moment given the selloff. What are your thoughts on silver's long term potential?

It's better to buy in bulk to save on shipping. Also, have the patience to send in a MO.

apmex has been awesome for me.

You might notice that buying a few 5 oz bars might be a tad cheaper than buying 5 one oz bars.

So is silver going to keep going down or should I put my order in now?

I'm not really trying to invest, I just collect coins and I wanted to get 1-2 silver eagles and Canadian Maple leaves.

apmex has a "historical charts" thing on the right of their page. Click that, then look at the metal price you're interested in over the time period that suits you. There are a lot of opinions of what will happen with the price. Some say wait, some say buy. People have been saying it was inflated since it was $25 an ounce. A lot of folks got out when it was around $50.

Personally, I bought some on Thursday evening and will likely buy more tomorrow.

APMEX has their 1 oz. silver round for .99 over spot at the moment.. That is a very good deal for new silver coins. Great company to deal with!

You raise a good point...

Also good to Diversify...

Some 5s or 10s for when you want to move some weight, some 1s for when you just want to break off a few...

Also I prefer rounds as they seem to store better in tubes and its easier to carry them to a show or dealer.... But I'll take either...

The euro crisis is huring gold and silver, everyone is ditching euros for dollars causing the value of the dollar to rise. As a result if you have dollars you can buy more gold and silver because its cheaper for you, if you have euros you cant buy as much silver and gold because the price is more expensive. Alot of people see the value of gold and silver changing right now but its really not the value of the metal changing its simply a currency exchange war thats causing it all, atleast thats what its been the last few weeks, who know what the future will bring, personally im buying more silver and gold with my slightly more valuable dollar because once Europe gets figured out or eventually fails people will realize the US and the dollar sucks just as bad.

Italy is too big to fail .... and too big to bail.
anticipate market sell-off and paper PMs to cover losses.

by this graph, France is unzipped

the current fundamentals have not changed......
