Phillies: leave Madson in for 9th

Why, o why, o why can not Charlie Manual leave Madson in for the 9th inning ? I think he puts in Contreras for the 9th just to sell more anti-acid. If Madson pitches good in the 8th, just let him finish the damn game.
And while I am at it, what is the purpose of bringing in Romero to face one batter ? The guy spends more time warming up then pitching.

Contreras has a 0.00 ERA and has only given up 2 hits all year so I have no idea why you are so upset.
