So is this new NFl rule about devastating hits bullshit or what.

1. This is football, all risks of injury are implied when you sigh up.
2. If guys are worried about hitting high and getting suspended, they are going to aim low. Knee injuries will end a carrer way faster than a concussion.
3. Defensive players get paid more to hit and cause turn overs, contacts amounts go up if you have a rep for murdering people on the field.
4. Do we really need another NBA out thier full of people whinning when they get hit, or officials screwing up the game because its to violent.
5 The reason these guys get paid so much is because they do things that the rest of us can't; run, jump, and TAKE HITS.

Anyways i think its stupid, we already have a defenseless reciever rule.

National 'Mary Ball' League.

Fucking idiots. Football hurts. That's why girls don't play.

What a BUNCH OF CRAP. This of Football, not soccer!

If they want to avoid the hits, quarterbacks shouldn't throw the ball to a receiver that is running full speed across the middle. The good QB's don't- -they care about the welfare of their receivers too much.

yeah, Desean Jackson wouldn't have gotten layed out nearly as bad if Kolb didn't hang him out to dry.

Do away with pads. Australian Rules Football and Rugby don't seem to have the head injuries.

Check this video out from the NFL.

NFL: Whats a legal hit.

2 players, moving at full speed in the opposite direction. Someone is going to get hurt.

Or if he had correctly read coverage schemes. He thought it was man when it was actually zone. The hit is ultimatly a result of Jackson's error.

Jackson doesn't to pick what routes he runs, coming across the center, a ball thrown to the chest wouldn't resulted in Jackson having ti jump and strecth out for the ball. If he was still on the ground he would have been able to take the fit better.

If the defense is in zone coverage, the receiver is supposed to find a soft spot and stay there instead of continuing on forward into the "covered" area. If Jackson had remained in the soft spot in the zone, there would be no defenders close enough to hit him like that. NFL Network had footage of Jackson's play compared to a similar one with Larry Fitzgerald, except that Fitzgerald hung around in the soft spot, caught the pass, and turned upfield before getting hit. Jackson just kept going with his route and ended up running right into the defender's kill zone.
