I do want to game with it, Rift maybe WoW again and some others I want to try. But I am sick of desktops and want a laptop. I don't need the most super fast high tech uber wunder comp, but playing on high settings would be nice. I really don't want to spend more than this one is going for either. Any advice is greatly appreciated.

The few reviews on Newegg seem favorable.
Since a "real" gamer's laptop costs in the vicinity of $3,000, I'm in to see how this one turns out.
Yeah theres no way I'd drop that kind of cash for a computer. I'm no where near hardcore enough of a gamer for that.
I'd go for this:

Bullshit.
What about the 17 inch version? Just as good? Better? Just bigger viewing area?
ETA: I don't really want to pay the difference but I'd like the bigger screen. Although I guess I could use my current monitor. Would it overheat if closed up and ran all the time on the current monitor? Yeah I'm not too tech savvy.
The processor, memory and video processing are what make a gamer's computer, not just the display.

Screen size is irrelevant. Resolution is what matters, the 15 inch asus has a higher resolution than that toshiba you linked to. There is no advantage to buying the 17 inch version if the Asus unless you have poor eyesight and would prefer a lower screen ppi.
You could use it closed with and external monitor without issue, but if you plan on running it like that the majority of the time, you would be better off with a desktop.
It might get pretty hot closed up and running games. I tried that with my Dell and got too hot, the model I had was known for overheating though.
should be good you might want to look at a Hard Drive upgrade down the line for a performance improvement. SSD would be nice.
