Looked at Rocket Dock but 64-bit isn't supported.
Anyone?
Windows 7 has that feature built into the task bar.
Open a program, right click it on the task bar, click 'pin this program to taskbar'.

Yes it is. I'm using it right now on Win 7 Ultimate x64. I liked having my apps on the moveable quicklaunch on previous versions of Windows and RocketDock helped me get that back since W7 doesn't have it anymore. You can re-enable quicklaunch via registry but you can't move it out of the taskbar.

OP, buy a mac if you want that horrible dock.

What's horrible about it? Some people, such as myself, find it more convenient than the start menu or having icons all over the desktop.

What do you think the taskbar is for at the bottom. It even has live preview windows.
Buy a mac.

^^^^ This
you haven't discovered hotkeys yet.
go to
Executor for windows
after you install it, simply hit WindowsKey+Z and then start typing the app you want to lanuch.
for the Mac it's Spotlight which ships with OSX.
But I love executor. You can even type something like "google: today's weather" and it will open your current browser and send google your search string.
Use alt+Tab to cycle through open apps.
Seriously, it just bugs me when people who think they're computer savvy spend most of their time navigating around with a mouse. It's a huge productivity killer when you add up the time over days/weeks/months of constant computer use.

While true, not everyone wants their apps pinned down there. I like having my bar along the top, or top/center, like I use to do with the moveable quicklaunch.

This feature is also built into Win7. Don't know why you need a third-party app for it.
Press the Windows key "then start typing the app you want to lanuch [
sic]"

read the Features part on the home page, what I described is about 5% of what it can do.
