IBM thinkpad t40 hard drive
I want to put in a bigger hard drive. my 40g is close to being filled, What brand of drive would you reccomend? It is an older laptop but works well for what i do running XP pro for os. Thanks !
WD black lable.
blue if you can't
stay away from green.
or if you can afford it step up to the sdd type, but don't have enough data on those to recommend one.
Why not use the Seagate Momentus 7200.4 500GB that they (Lenovo) are putting in the current T Series?
60gb or 120gb SSD, clone your 40gn over to the SSD, verify the data and system boots, then wipe the 40 & drop into an external bus powered enclosure for a 40gb usb drive.
If it were me that's what I would do.
T40 uses a PATA drive, not SATA. Looks like WD Blue is the main option from Newegg, one Samsung in there too.
Thanks i appreciate the input!!
