The other day I was at a USPSA match and I used the video capability on my point and shoot Canon SD880IS and it took decent enough videos for a 3 year old digital camera but the file-size to video quality is somewhat lacking.
With the Flip style cameras being dirt cheap I'm thinking about getting something in that format but there are so many damn options now I don't even know where to start. It needs to be somewhat rugged and while not necessarily waterproof it'd need to be able to stand up to a reasonable amount of rain. And I see a lot of them have the option for 720p @ 60fps which I think would be ideal so I could really analyze my mistakes and etc. I'd like to keep it around $100 but other than that I don't really have any other requirements.
So which one is the one to get?
Sony Bloggie isn't bad. I picked up one on onesaleaday.com for $60.00
Takes good pics and decent video.
Some reviews bash the Sony software, but I don't use it, I treat the camera like a memory card.

I've checked those and I don't like the fact that the gopros and the contours have such a wide angle, they really distort the image. They are also $300 for the cheap GoPro. I'd get a Contour for $200 before I got a gopro.

Just word of caution with Flip cams:
I have the Flip MinoPro with the 16gb of memory. Has 4 hours of record time, but the battery doesn't last that long, or it hasn't so far. One cool little mod: get camcorder lenses, and velcro, or superglue for a permanent mount, them to the camera. You can get tele, macro, and wide lenses for it.
I have a total of $52 invested on my set up, including the camera.
