A couple of the Spoetzl Brewery in Shiner, Texas, and a couple at the Kreische house. Heinrich Ludwig Kreische ran the first commercial brewery in Texas.

The Kreische house.

Springtime in Texas!

These were done with Photomatix as HDR with three images each. I didn't read up before taking the trip, otherwise I would have used aperture priority and did +/- 2 on the bracketing. I only did +/-1. Not really looking for feedback, as those are just some 'doodling around' with HDR. I think it's a neat affect, and will likely play around with it a lot more in the future.

Nice stuff. I really like #3.

HDR can be fun and at the same time, it can be way over done. Photomatix is a great program. If you can, try more exposures for deeper tones.

Some of mine:

This was 15 exposures

and bordering on the over-done:

How does HDR work? I love the effect, just don't understand the process.
and great pics btw

HDR is basically combining several shots at different exposures together to get the interesting highlights. You kinda get the best detail of all of the exposures. I got a copy of Photomatix, which does HDR processing, and from it's quick guide, it says to take three images using exposure bracketing on the aperture priority setting, with bracketing set at +/-2.

The ones I did above were on manual, with bracketing set at +/-1. They came out pretty neat. Sometimes the effect can be pretty subtle, sometimes it can be pretty extreme. You can also use more than 3 images, but it helps to have some under and some over exposed.
