Hello everyone! Here soon my wife and I will be taking a trip to Wyoming and of course I will be bringing my 20D along.
We plan on going to Yellowstone as well as the Tetons. On previous trips to various places I have taking a
Canon 24-70 f/2.8L with and had good results. I was wondering if you guys had any other suggestions on lenses that
would be good to take with. Thanks!

Something longer to get up close on the wildlife?

That should cover it.

A 300 mm is a good idea. Also a tripod.

Respect the animals, will you be stopping through Jackson Hole?

You need a long lens. 100-400 minimum. If you can, rent a 500.

I'm a terrible photographer, but a great host. If you are driving through on I-80, give em a ring, the Snowy Range is also breathtakingly beautiful this time of year.

Travel Tip:

From Jackson, drive about 30 minutes or so north to the entrance of Grand Teton National Park. Catch the ferry across Jenny Lake and pick up one of the trails heading in to the park. I'd take a day pack and all associated gear, water purifier, bear spray, food and such. Plan on starting early and ending late to get as far in as you can.

It's difficult to walk 50 yards without seeing absolutely epic natural beauty.....one of my favorite places on the planet, and in some respects a more striking and picturesque than Yellowstone.

You have to stop in Jackson Hole. Find the Mormon Row barns at sunrise and prepare to be amazed.

I know, I live in Jackson

Here's another tip. Go up to Curtis Canyon. Drive all the way to the fork and make a left. Stop where you see the plaque and trail up the hill on the left side. Go all the way up and you will have a great view of the tetons.

We will be staying a couple miles North of Jackson Hole

The tips on places to go are great because I haven't had a reply in my Travel Forum post yet

Of course you need to keep an eye on the bison. I could spend a year there taking pictures.
