Getting ready for "mass effect 3"..

I'm playing thru ME2 right now to get my saves just the way I want & came upon a dilemma.

On the one hand, I charmed Ashley in ME1. Now I would do likewise for Miranda in ME2, but I hear that'd give you problems in ME3.

Only logical conclusion is to create a save for each scenario. Is that possible however?

I figure my ME1 save is on my harddrive so I'd import it & then save my Ashly game on my memory card & then Miranda on the harddrive. Is that possible?

Incidently I'm pissed that doing the smart thing is also usually the Renegade thing. Like shooting the merc captain before he draws. That's just good strategy.

If you banged Liara in ME1 and then banged someone else in ME2...I don't know exactly but Liara came back in ME2 so you screwed up with her. Best to have multiple playthroughs of each game choosing different options.

Damn EA for not releasing on Steam. I was really looking forward to ME3 but they are trying to push Origin. I got BF3 because I didn't know how horrible Origin is and BF3 is pretty good overall, won't make that same mistake twice and get an Origin game again.

I read the leak, and without getting into spoilers, yes, cheating on an ME1 love interest in ME2 will bite you in the ass in 3. So if you want to see what happens, cool, but if you are trying to do the "perfect" playthrough or whatever, probably better to stick with the ME1 interest.

For my playthroughs where I wanted to bang ME2 chicks, I just played an ME1 game without bedding either Ashley or Liara. Nothing to tie me down in 2.

Just completed a playthrough of ME1 and 2 as Adept, Paragon, stayed loyal to Liara. I wonder if she will remain as the new Shadow Broker or join the squad in ME3?

I hate to say this, but nobody's really answered my question.

Can you re-use the same file?

If I take 1 file from ME1 & import it to ME2, then play it thru making sure to save it before choosing someone else, can I load that save up & play thru it again & not pick someone else?

I think yes. I think the importation save is created when you finish a game. If you had the inclination you could try with ME1 and ME2 by creating a save at the end point of a game, just before you pick if the council lives or dies, then finishing it twice with a different ending. Then try loading it into ME2. This is a method you can also use if you beat ME1 on a different xbox, reload the save before you fight sarin on the new xbox, finish it and load up ME2.

Yeah except the council save decision isn't made in ME1, or rather not imported, it's made in ME


I think what you can do is start your ME2 game and when you get a little while in go ahead and save one without charming Miranda to a memory card and keep that safe then finish ME2. Then go back and load the cheater version and play the rest of that game through.

Or do what I did and have multiple classes(playthroughs) with multiple romance options

1. Soldier/Ashley/kill kaiden
2. Soldier/Ashley/kill kaiden/sex with Miranda
3. Adept/Liara/kill ashley/sex with liara in shadow broker
4. Sentinal/Liara/kill kaiden/no sex in ME2

Has anyone been able to download the demo yet? The website went down before the demo was even released. I can't even download any DLC on the BioWare Social website.

I got my 360 download earlier today and played and beat it right before going to class on adept. When I get home I'll do it again on the other classes.

Hell, I'm planning to do a run thru where I start with Ash, then go to Tali. With Ash's anti-alien sentiments, I want to she her reaction to be replaced by Tali.

Likely both. I suspect early in the story line Cerberus will hit the Shadow Broker base, given they know where it is and who the new broker is. I suspect your first mission will be a rescue mission.

Your question is a little confusing. Are you asking about saving before a major decision in ME1 or 2? It seems like we might've been planning the same thing.

I was planning to romance both Ashley and Liara in ME, then save right before choosing, and going back later to pick up the game again after the choice and finishing it once more. Then I found out that wouldn't work the way I planned. I forgot that the ME2 Importation works off the "Careers" and not individual save files. The ME2 Importer works from an auto save the first game does right before the final fight with Saren. That is the last save of the game.

Now this is just theory, but I don't see why it wouldn't work.

You could save right before the end of the third planet (the romance confrontation happens right after it). I forgot to save, so I said fuck it and went with Liara again. Anyway, with a save before the confrontation, you can easily complete the rest of the game twice with the two alternate save files. So lets say you save before the romance confrontation, you take save file 1 all the way up to the invasion of the citadel and save it before you fight Saren. You go back to Save 2, choose the other girl and take that save file all the way up to the same point in the citadel. Whenever you feel like importing either save into ME2, just go back and fight Saren again, and immediately import that final auto save into ME2.

I always let Ashley die in ME1. She was annoying to me and I liked Carth errr Kaidan more. Miranda > the other females.

I need to replay ME1 and ME2 to get some saves the way I want them too.

Ok just read most of the dialogue from ME3 I don't really feel like its spoiled the gameplay at all but omg I couldn't stop reading it
