There seams to be an app for that.
https://play.google.com/store/apps/developer?id=Rittr+Labs&hl=en

I have come to the conclusion that my pants are too tight, and not just from surfing BOTD. It is getting hard to fit my carry pistol inside the waist band. I am 5'9" and about 230 (I don't own a scale so I have no real idea, I just know the pants are tight). So, since I already paid for the phone I downloaded three free apps and that is cheaper then buying new pants. I am nothing if not cheap.

I got the push up app, the sit up app and the squat app. I do not have a pull up bar so that one did not get downloaded. I selected the highest amount of consecutive reps for each. Today was day one. Since I work with my hands for a living (automotive tech) I have some decent strength. But it seams I am way off on being able to do push ups and sit ups these days. Squats are not that bad, I am on my feet a lot and up and down quite a bit as well.

Didn't see a question in there, so I thought I'd chime in just for fun.

What's your final goal, just weight loss? Get a little built, or get massive?

Push ups require a lot of abdominal strength to do correctly. Go chest almost to the ground. Elbows and spine should make a straight line.

If you are not going for "Arnold" size, then the floor provides just about all the resistance you need.

Quadriceps will provide more benefit for your whole body then most anything else. Squats and walking lunges will give you a huge benefit in ability, energy, and weight reduction.

Pull ups are great (palm away, slow pull, chin above the bar, slow back down). At your weight, I'm going to assume it will be difficult, unless you are in prime shape. So concentrate on bringing weight down first.

Getting the weight off to start off. Probably more important that any exercise regimen. Good food habits, and know when to say when. Quit the alcohol, quit the sodas, quit the high fructose corn syrup. Consider either Atkins or Paleo diets. Fruitatarian is another one of interest.

Drop to 200lbs before killing yourself on working out with no visible benefits. Stay away from the sodas, and snack foods. Then, hit the pushups, situps, squats. By then, you'll be ready for more specific advice.

Oh yeah, start walking, and work up to running.

Is there an "eat less; move more" app?

Get Couch to 5k as well for cardio.

Pull up bars are cheap. You can get a door gym from Wal-Mart for $20. I would also suggest getting rings or a TRX to do bodyweight rows until you can do pullups. These can be hung from the door pullup bar, and will also come in handy later for dips and (if you get rings) muscleups.

Or, go the hard route and do Crossfit. You will get results fast by following scaled mainpage WOD's and eating sensibly/Clean.

You may have missed the cheap part of my post. Pull up bar for 20 bucks I can do, Crossfit gym ain't happening. That would be a well rounded work out in my book. Pushing and pulling upper body, core and legs.

ETA: Running just is not happening. My knees will not handle that.

Lift heavy shit, do some type of "cardio" eat less carbs and more protein and man up and do it.

I have been fat and sloppy, scrawny and fast, and almost big and strong and the latter two beat the fuck.out of the first one. ....

This thread is making me think of the "I pick things up and put them down" commercials. I swear not one of you actually read the open or my responces.

Your OP didn't have any questions...so everyone is just giving advice. What did you expect? What do you want?

I think you should squat more for the record...(of course squatting more is never the wrong answer)

I didn't HAVE a question. Perhaps you noticed that in the OP. I found some nice apps and thought I would share. I actually know a thing or two about PT.

Today is day two of the work out. So far I hurt. Which is good.

Day one you chose what amount of push ups, sit ups, pull ups, and squats you want to do at once and then do an initial PT test for the app. For what ever the exercise is you do as many as you can and plug the number in. It then starts you on a work out routine that same day. So I did I think 12 push ups day one, then it had me do four sets of varing reps. Today it was a total of 20 pushups with it being 6 4 5 5 for the reps. Same with the other apps. At the end of the work out it asks if it was too hard, just right or too easy. Click and it says wait a day to rest. I figure once the soreness goes away I am going to start doing it every day. This type of stuff shouldn't be to bad to do each day since it is basically what I did every day while active duty. Just waiting for the muscle pain to stop.

So this morning I did 1 pull up, 56 squats, 31 situps, and 20 pushups. Not all at once (except obviously for the pull up). Monday the apps will probably have me up to 2 pull ups, 57-60 squats, 31-36 situps and 21-24 pushups. Don't know yet we will see. I am interested in seeing how fast it gets me to the goal.

I chose the max for each exercise so 25 pullups, 125 pushups, 250 situps, 250 squats. I do not think it will be in a month when I get there. Probably closer to 3 but we will see. Once I hit the maximum I figure just start over.

What part was not clear? The part that I found some PT apps on my phone? The part where I downloaded them and was using them to get back into a bit of shape? Or the part where I said I was a cheap skate and free apps to help me get into shape was a good thing?

Neutral standpoint here: I thought the OP was attempting to ask a question though I did not know what. Thread title was misleading.
