These will help me break through my squat clean plateau no doubt

Seriously though, these are top quality shoes, a little uncomfortable but ROCK solid. Only done a little lifting in them so far, but tomorrow and Sunday should be my first real test of them.

Now I need to get rid of my old Do-Wins

In case you didn't figure it out, I have a lot of shoes and I'm hairy.

Sock fail. Never wear athletic shoes without socks, especially if you're male.

That's worse than Arfcom's hatred of jorts.

Any reason you picked up a pair of those?

One of the guys at the gym has them, and seems to like them. We have a large group that wears the Inov8s or whatever they are called for the WODs.

Thanks for the tip, I think I'll survive though.

ETA- I do wear socks most of the time, unless the wife falls behind on my laundry.

This particular brand or lifting shoes in general?

In general, lifting shoes raise the heel to get more quad activation and help with flexibility on the olympic lifts (think bottom of a clean or snatch). They also provide a very stable platform for overhead lifts. If you google "why wear lifting shoes" you'll get a much better/in depth explanation.

These shoes in particular are very well rated for durability and the heel height is proportionate to the shoe size, rather than a one size fit all heel height. I researched a lot before I picked these, and it was between these and the Adistar lifting shoes which are narrow...I have wide feet so I got these. They are expensive, but they will probably be the last pair I ever have to buy.

Just the brand. I've got a pair of the Do-Win Rogues because I also have wide feet. Thanks for the info.

Are you serious about selling your old shoes? I wear a 10.5 regular also and have always wondered about squating in squat shoes. Of course if I have to ask how much they cost I probably can't afford them.

Yeah, definitely. I paid about $110 for them IIRC and the sole is peeling just a bit, a little glue would fix it right up. Shoot me an IM, I'm not looking to get a lot out of them, but I'd like to get rid of them. I can send pics too of course.

I caused an evacuation of my entire family household when I was around 12 by taking off athletic shoes worn without socks for an entire summer.

It made baby Jesus cry.

Yeah I hear you. I wore a pair of Nike Frees sockless for 6 months worth of PT in Iraq. In 125 degree temps. I threw them in the garbage.

I have the Nikes as well, in white. They are the best weightlifting shoes in my opinion. Ultra stable, make your feet feel like they are set in concrete, which I love. I've tried the Adidas and Do-wins as well and these win hands down.
