Hardware Failure 10/4 - Replacement Shipped
We experienced a hardware failure at 1am yesterday morning and have ordered replacement parts this morning. Since the problem was not consistent, it took hours to find the source of the problem. In addition, we had not been actively testing our backup, which we also found dead.
At this time we are hoping to have everything back to normal tomorrow, assuming replacements arrive on time.
We apologize for any inconveniences and will do our best to keep the site running in it's current limited state until we can restore full functionality.
Goatboy your killing me, I actually had to work yesterday, plus, it turns out I have a wife

How weird is that?
Thank you for keeping the members abreast on what's going on. It goes a long way in maintaining harmony. Some other sites could take lessons from AR15.com.
What a nightmare that must have been for you. Thank you for your hard work. Patty
Thanks for the update GB.

Better upgrade your service plan to 4 hour parts. We got it from Dell, and they always mack it in 4 hours.

Was Cisco router problems, not Dell and the two routers are already end of life.
We're looking into upgrading into a 3845 to cover our future growth and get into something that's current

.
Should you even consider tech advice from a person who double posts.

You mean you don't use stacks of Linksys routers like some of us??

But really... things kinda come to a screaching halt when your primary.... AND secondary $)&$ the bed.

Juniper and Netgear are excellant alternatives.

I laughed out loud on that one.

Sorry for the trouble, GB. Keep up the good work.
Never fear, never fear--I offered the use of my BFH. Things should be fine tomorrow. The old girl has never failed me--and I fix stuff all the time.

I love the 4 hour parts delivery. Saves us all the time. They don't really even question that you need a new unit either.

Keep up the fine work - Just discovered this board a few weeks ago, and it's my prime source for AR info. Had severe withdrawal symptoms until your herculean efforts got the system back up. +10 for GoatBoy!

GoatBoy, I learned about the H/W failure after sending the IM and email.
Don't wory about the dealer forum, I can wait.
Cisco still has the best software and management system, even if the competitors are nipping away in specialty markets. And you'll find more Cisco certified people out there to work on IOS than anything else.

Thanks for correcting the hardware issues. Seems faster than before.
Keep up the good work.
OK!
Router took a while to replace and get reconfigured, but it's still not something I trust, so we'll look for a new router to replace it as soon as possible.
At the moment I am exhausted and will try to go into more details if needed.
For the time being, everything should be back up and stable!
