I had a long story typed up as I sit and wait.. then my phone died before I could post it. So...
I can say I am proud of my boys. I am sitting in the hospital. My wife is getting mri's We got a 4 day weekend to go visit my boys and a friend. While sitting in the garage and having a good time the cheap ass piece of shit folding bench my wife was straddling collapsed and sent her backwards onto her head. It sounded like a watermelon tossed on the concrete from the second floor, followed by a grunt/moan. It happened so fast I didn't even register what was happening, I couldn't stop it. I held her immobile and then went to get blankets and my son's took over. My youngest boy straddled her head with his knees and immobilized her while my oldest spoke with and talked to her. Asking her questions. Birthdate, day, month, who he is.. etc etc. So here I am sitting waiting on her mri's and news on whats going on with her and just noticing her blood on my hand. I will say the officer that showed up initially because the dispatcher said alcohol was involved ended up being a very cool guy. He was a bit miffed when I told him she hadn't had any drinks and the dispatcher was clearly told alcohol was not involved when they asked. The ambulance crew included my oldest and me in immobilizing her and back boarding her and lifting and loading her. They were good people. And my boys.. I am proud of them. |

Thanks for the prayers.
I am told she seems to be more coherent and was upset they had to cut all her clothes off. She had her nice clothes on because she was so excited to see the boys. They cut off her Spyder and her under armor hoodies. Her nice dress pants and her bra.  But I am still waiting to see her.

Op, I had similar happen a few weeks back. My dads
Blood pressure bottomed out on him and he collapsed in my driveway, bouncing his head off the concrete. I thought his heart had given out on him (long history of heart failure). We did similar, kept him still until the ambulance and fire arrived. He ended up with a head bleed but had a full recovery after a couple days monitoring him. I hope your wife recovers as easily. |

It's starting to worry and frankly anger me. She was complaining as she came too that her legs and arms were numb. And that her neck hurts. Her hands became very cold. She was moving her legs a little, which led me to believe it was more likely that her brain was "resetting" from the hit. She began to start becoming incoherent and mumbling. That prompted my buddy to call 911. But we still needed to immobilize her and calm her. It was scaring the shit out of me.. but I couldn't show it. If my kids hadn't been there helping I am not sure I could have been so calm about it. I hope she is good. But I am still waiting here for answers. |

My buddy just texted me..
His garage security camera caught the whole thing.  She reached down to scratch her foot or ankle.. sat up and the bench legs folded and collapsed. |

Sorry for sounding a bit neurotic.
I am with her now. She can feel her legs and arms. They are worried she may have hurt her upper spine near her skull. Waiting for the doctor. The e put a much more stout c collar on her. |

Concussions suck, and can produce symptoms that last for months. I had one last October when I fell and hit my noggin. I don't think I was totally right in the head until mid-March. Best of luck to your wife and family, OP.
