I got the same email the third week of February 2014. I immediately paid for my rifle. Now it's the second week of April. I have no rifle. What happened to the "they don't bill it till they shipped it" crap. I've made several phone calls and basically they're telling me to shut up and be patient. I'm not sure I'll ever buy another rifle from Larue tactical.

Ordered a 16" tAR barrel today, was told they were 2-3 weeks out.
Placed the order, went to "stealth upper- GTG" status. Next thing I know I get an email saying completed, however when I check my order status is says "front office" on the main page, but when you click into the order it still says "stealth upper- gtg." Anyone else seen this? |

Interesting... I placed my tobr order Wednesday and the card was charged Friday for just the rifle and shipping/tax. Status still says gtg... John at larue said that means it's going into production and should be a few weeks before it ships and my other accessories are billed.

I'm getting ready to order a rifle from Larue and just read through all the OP and the links. One that got my attention is the guy that changed his order 24 times and just needed to share an experience. I once worked Tech Support for Gateway 2000 Computers back in the day when their product and service were second to none. (Dell was maybe our closest rival company but we had them beat in service by a mile with awards to prove it). Thing was I recall my Tech Support group got this guy that would call in a minimum 4 times a day with issues. Constant demanding and trying to persuade reps into giving him the current model upgraded hardware, constantly complaining and messing up his system etc. Finally we had his system brought in and we had it in our area for a week and ran every program and diagnostic on it and it was flawless. Send it back and still the guy kept calling. Keep in mind each phone call average cost to the company was approx $40 a call. Also the industry changed rapidly, place an order one week and the same configuration would have a bigger monitor, hard drive, ram etc the next. His sales rep got wind of what was going on and came up to my department and advised us that Dell had been the ones that called and ordered this system for the guy. Low and behold we discover HP did the same thing to them. Had so many problems with the guy they took his computer back and bought him a Dell. Dell had enough of the guy and bought him a Gateway. We wound up having enough of the guy and bought him a Compaq after taking ours back. Essentially firing him as a customer. His sales rep also stated the guy had changed his order several times a day and after a week just had to say, too late it is built and shipped. We had three people like this in the five years I was there.

After more than 15 years in customer service, sales and business management I have learned the customer is in fact, not always right. Businesses are in business to make money not friends. There are some people you cannot satisfy no matter what you do. Every business has to evaluate at what point they are going to stop the hemorrhaging cost of an unreasonable customer. I would be Leary of someone who makes so many changes. Clearly they cannot make up their mind, they are difficult to satisfy and will probably be a problem in the future after they receive their product. I would probably allow one change through a phone call to finalize and if they are at all hesitant. "Tell you what, I'm going to close your order rather than you getting something your not happy with. Once you have thoroughly researched and finalize what you want we would be more than happy to place your order again." |

I had to go in and change my CC info on my account today...people like to take things that aren't theirs it would seem. Will this mess with my order? |

Mine says 'Payment Received' on a rifle order. Invoice says waiting on FFL but it was sent to them.
Not a complaint, but pointing out a a 'new' status. P.S. Card was charged within a few hours of ordering. I have a feeling the rifle will be shipped in records time! Before the gunmaggedon of 2013 I had ordered 20" 5.56 and 7.62 OBRs but never got them. My phone number had changed and I actually forgot I ordered the rifles two years before! |

View Quote example 1 My card was charged on 8/28 for an 8/25 order for a 308 ultimate upper and has been sitting there as "GTG" for awhile now. example 2 During the ultiimate AR15 upper sale I called ahead to make sure it wouldnt ship/arrive until after my out of state vacation and was assured it wouldnt. The package shipped the same day I left the house for the airport.. (fastest thing I ever got from larue LMAO) I had to direct it to a UPS drop off Pac N Ship facility over the internet to pick it up a week later. The CSRs/ shipping people dont really know I guess. LOL. example 3 I ordered an upper kit as part of their AR Builder thing on 2/19/16 and cancelled the order on 8/8/16 after waiting 6 freakin months. Of course that put me off the builder list because I didnt have the patience to wait.. lol |

I placed two orders on 9/16. My cc was charged (yes, full amount) on 9/18 for one and 9/20 for the other.
Status on one is 'Stealth Upper - GTG'. The other is 'Lowers'. Now what? |

I hope it comes sooner for us. From what I’ve heard, all 18” 6.5cm’s are finished and they are working on the 22” now. I ordered a week ago and was told “about 4 weeks”.

1) When do they charge my credit card?
A) They charge your credit card when your order is ready to ship. Once you card is charged, it is a very short time until you will receive your order. They WILL run your card immediately upon placing an order, although it shows as a $0 charge, and drops off in a few days since they don't post anything. This is essentially a way to verify that you've given them a valid card. View Quote All I'm saying is that top quote has not proven to be true for me. FWIW some of the names of the statuses have changed a bit but I placed a pOBR order and the sequence was as follows:
11/28/2017 – Order Placed, “On Hold” status 11/28/2017 – Status changed to “Rifle – G2G” once FFL processed 11/29/2017 – Pending charge showed up on card 12/01/2017 – Pending charge on card disappeared 01/17/2018 – Card Charged, status changed to “Payment Received” I suspect I will get a ship notice soon. |

It's a hard charge on the credit card, 2 days following the order (which is a "Backordered" trigger). I want the trigger & will wait for the trigger (reasonably) but this one particular facet is not a good practice. |

My lt204 ordered on 1/4/19 didn't charge until it shipped on the 17th. |

Is anyone interested in circumventing the wait time on a ultimate upper kit? I've got a 7.62 FDE upper kit, 16" stealth barrel, two additional mags, rail guards, ...and so on, I'd like to pass on...after the 6 month wait I had already bought another used LaRue that I'm in love with now... so I'm selling the UU kit, ill do it at cost to any worthy LaRue fan...shoot me an email [email protected]
