SIU in Carbondale hosted an event during 2017's eclipse, and as they are doing that this time, too. Depending on where you live, if you're not that far from totality, it might be easier to wait for a weather forecast before picking an area. 2017 in Russellville, KY, was amazing.

We'll kill time throwing some frisbee and plinking some steel. Anyone in the area is welcome to park and hang out for the day.
