Yeah that was weird.  He had a half mile head start.  He blew it.  Not the driver he thought he was.  Should have stolen a Corolla.

I don't really get this:  When the cops figured out that the car was stolen, why keep up the polite "sir please step out of the car" requests?

The Internet is full of videos of asshole cops abusing their authority on citizens who didn't deserve it.    But in this case, they've got an obvious stolen car, and they keep up the "please, sir" shit until he goes flying off and endangers a bunch of other people.....

Don't get me wrong - I'd be happy to have that polite officer pull me over for a simple traffic stop or whatever... maybe he's just not cut out for dealing with actual criminals?

Getting away from the cops was so easy in GTA!

A car with a shitton of power can get away from you real quick when you just stomp on it.  It’s not like your Kia.

I'd feel safer crashing at 100 mph in a smart car.  Lambo is basically a 3/4 inch square stock go cart frame surrounded by fiberglass, carbon fiber and plastic and a giant fast motor.  No idea how those things get approved to drive on street roads.

I think you’re right.  It sounded like they were dispatching air and ground units while the cop was stalling.

Is there any backstory on how he came to be in possession of the car?
Was it a rental that wasn't returned?
Did he carjack somebody?
I highly doubt he hotwired it

Wondering the same.  Based on the video it seems he might have given his actual license which is odd behavior.  Clearly he knew it was hot, otherwise he wouldn't have taken off.

D’oh!

Thanks for letting me know so I don’t spread it any further.

It caught my eye because I was rear ended by an 18 wheeler into the back of a stopped greyhound bus many years ago, which is very similar to the crashes depicted

Was wondering why the backup cops didn't park in front of the Lamborghini, considering the perp clearly angled it for escape and left the car running. Also, why didn't the lead cop insist on him turning off the car and handing over the keys or FOB or whatever once he knew guy had felonies and was driving a stolen car. I also thought felony stops involved guns drawn, although the other cops may have had guns drawn out of camera view maybe.

Worse on HP motorcycles.
Local dealer sold a performance bike to a fairly new rider. They crashed it in 15 seconds pulling out of the lot picking it up.

I don’t think most people have any clue how much power even a pretty wimpy motorcycle has or how quickly one of them can get away from you.

My neighbor collects high end motorcycles. He won’t even let experienced riders get on them - it’s just too easy to get yourself in trouble on them.

I've not driven a lambo. I have driven a BMW X6, though, and it's 4WD with tons of power and sophisticated computer systems to keep the thing under control.

When I was on the track with the X6M I was doing absolutely retarded shit because the computer was so good at keeping such a ridiculous contraption in line. As I was yanking on the steering wheel inducing it into drifts I remember remarking to my passenger "Boy, you'd really have to work hard to crash this thing!" as they were pressed up against the window looking rather green around the gills.

I assume the lambo has similar computer systems so that even a retard won't crash it.

Of course, the X6M won't get to 100 mph in like 5 seconds and once you get above about 125 there ain't but so much a computer system can do if you're an idiot. Given the time between when he took off and when the officer in the car announced the crash he had just over 20 seconds with the gas probably to the floor. So I'm guessing he was going easily over 150 when he crashed.

It sure as fuck ain't like the vidjya games.
