Religion has actually convinced people that there's an invisible man living in the sky who watches everything you do, every minute of every day. And the invisible man has a special list of ten things he does not want you to do. And if you do any of these ten things, he has a special place, full of fire and smoke and burning and torture and anguish, where he will send you to live and suffer and burn and choke and scream and cry forever and ever 'til the end of time!

But He loves you.

He loves you, and He needs money!

He always needs money! He's all-powerful, all-perfect, all-knowing, and all-wise, somehow just can't handle money!

Don't try to tell me the things I witnessed w/my own eyes are 'bullshit' unless you're ready to call me a liar.

ETA- For the inevitable requests:
1) She asked whatever she was communicating with if the lights were too bright in the kitchen. The kitchen fuse promptly blew.
2) She asked whatever she was communicating with to show her a sign, a shadow moved across the kitchen (nighttime so no sunlight coming through the windows) and our kitten who was sleeping on its bed in the kitchen immediately woke up and started playing/batting at something unseen in the air.
3) Every time she used that board, the Cuckoo clock (old-style w/the weights) in the adjacent dining room would stop. Nothing we could do would make it run again. Until she stopped, then the clock started up again on its own, every single time.

I witnessed all this with my own eyes, so play with them at your own spiritual risk.

Ouija boards are silly games but gave us some pretty decent movies so I'm good with it.

This man (below) has conducted hundreds of formal Exorcisms.  That is HIS basis of knowledge.  Now I'm sure that you, in your wisdom, assume that he sees every silly superstitious gullible rube and histrionic housewife who darkens the door of their local parish--but in fact, he does not.  Those silly suggestible gullible individuals are first interviewed by trained psychologists and doctors and social workers to rule out natural causes underpinning whatever phenomena they are experiencing and--unsurprisingly--99.5 percent of them are found NOT to be candidates for the Formal Rite of Exorcism, but are instead referred to medical doctors and psychologists/psychiatrists for treatment.  In order to be referred to HIM, there needs to be clear and unmistakable signs of the presence of the supernatural according to the guidelines set down by the Magisterium of the Catholic Church.  So it's a pretty impressive (and carefully vetted) data set sitting in the chair opposite him.  And it is understandable that you personally have had no such experince with such a data set.  And why would you? You are a spiritually unremarkable atheist living a spiritually unremarkable life surrounded on all sides by others with the same sensibilities.  Your chances of running into this stuff are pretty much a bullet-proof zero.  Given that, I would ask again--what is the basis for what you presume to be your "knowledge"?

I'd also be curious--if you deign to actually watch the videos and study this priest's face for signs of deception as he speaks--what are the tells that you find that he is stupid or insane or just making things up out of whole cloth?  He seems to me to be fairly reasonable and articulate and well-educated--and speaking the truth of the world as he himself has experienced it first-hand.

Actually I asked a very clear question in my post.  I absolutely understand that what the priest was saying/asserting in that video clip challenges the fundamental prinicples of reality as many perceive it--and I asked what (apart from consensus reality) informed his (JustinU235's) deep and detailed understanding of the subject matter, and also asked what "tells", facial expressions or mannerisms, there were that led him (or any other viewer) to the ironclad conclusion that the priests was simply lying.  Or stupid.  Or clearly delusional in his perceptions--because I myself didn't see any.

How about you?  How do you explain the divergence of HIS description and understanding of the shape of reality versus YOUR understanding of the shape of reality?

Is he lying?  Do you suppose he is just crazy?  How do you explain the divergence of HIS personal, lived experience from you own?

Do you suppose that--if only you could sit him down for a good talking to--that you could make him understand that in fact HE (a seasoned Exorcist) doesn't know anything, and that YOU somehow, by virtue of your thorough and scrupulous skepticism, hold the keys to reality?

As for "proof"?  I imagine that after several hundred exorcisms HE has all the proof that HE needs--but I do understand that is not and won't ever be enough "proof" for you to believe.

I won't presume to know whether he's lying or truly believes. You know why? Because I don't have evidence either way. That's sort of how this works.

You're essentially asking me to prove him wrong since you can't prove him right. That's not how proof/logic works. I can't prove a negative, and I'm sure I couldn't convince him of anything despite the fact he can't prove anything he says. If he could prove it, we wouldn't be having this discussion. All those exorcisms, and not one shred of actual evidence. Interesting huh?

You are right about one thing though, a guy saying "trust me bro" does not count as proof for me. It's sort of sad that it does for you.

You think you know it all, talk about hubris.

It isn't summoning, it is divination. And you are right, it moves only when people are touching it.

The quick notes religious explanation as to why it only moves while people are touching the triangle is referred to as channeling.  The people who are using the board are opening up their souls, and some form of entity presumably on the other side, is acting through the people using the board to subconsciously have them move the planchette (aka the triangle thingy).

I try to speak only from the standpoint of a Christian believer and I don't try to prove that it is real to non-believers.   I didn't create the advanced demons & christians ruleset, I just know what the rules are.

There is a simpler reason why it only moves when it's touched.  It's called Newton's first law of motion.

Would you mind if I invoked the Name of Jesus Christ to ask Him in His great mercy to illuminate for you, you who I assume is clearly seeking the truth about God's creation, the truth about both the visible and the invisible, to illuminate you with the knowlege of that Truth for your eternal benefit and in accordance with His love for you--that you might know the true nature and intentions of the spirits with which you, in your quest for what is true, have consorted with and supplicated?  The upside might be eternity in Heaven with the God who called you forth from nothingness.  The downside, unfortunately, is no more witch booty.
