I have several and they're some of the best people I've ever met. Yes black people have some serious problems with their culture but they're not all bad. Have any of you gone through life without befriending one at all?

I’ve had black and white friends from Africa. A college roommate was from Zimbabwe - before it went tits up.
Have a black BIL (great guy), have many black friends. I’ve also dated black girls, so I’m pretty sure I’m GTG. Growing up AF you get the smorgasbord of racial identities. None of which are off limits… |

I have had two male people of color. However I have many lady friends of color.
They all have been great well all but one. The one that caused my Chef Boyardee Raviloi meltdown. |

When I was in school we were all students, friends and wingmen. Not one minute did we think of color irregardless of group they hung with. By group you have preps, goth, nerds etc.
Racism was dead in my town. Democrats brought it back with vengeance for division only. |

Grew up .mil. Everybody was Air Force Blue. Never met an "African American" until my Dad retired and we moved back to the States.
The culture shock coming from Europe to Florida was... Intense. I had some 'pie in the sky' idea of what America would be like when we got back ... I had a rude awakening. |

I’ve never had a black friend, have never had a friend that had a black friend, and never even known a black person in any real sense.
I have only had 3-4 black clients in my career, and have only seen them once each in over 30 years. I have also had a black orthopedic doctor who has injected my knee once. The best I can say is that I have personally met 3-5 black people in my lifetime. It’s simply a matter of where I live and what I do for a living. I’ve obviously seen them at rodeos and on TV but that’s just my personal exposure to them. Edit: Black cowboys tend to be pretty good calf ropers. |

I grew up in the infantry and for whatever reason we didn't have any.
edit: except my drill sergeant and he didn't want to be my friend. Also had a couple as CSM at our unit but same thing they didn't want to be friends |

Had a couple of black kids in my grade with me in Washington State growing up. We weren't friends though. Same with New Mexico come to think of it. I don't have any black friends now either. I do have a black half sister that I have known since probably 2019/20. Her husband is a pretty cool dude. We don't live anywhere near each other and she won't come to Idaho and visit.
Hell other than basic training there was only two black dudes in one of my units during my whole 26 year career in the army and one was from Fiji. Dudes were cool as fuck though. I don't think my kids have mentioned any black kids in their school either. I know there are some in the next town over because I see them in Walmart with their parents. They are Somalis that stayed after a bunch were dropped off here late at night. Most of the families moved to Boise or Portland. |
