For the past two days, I've been having issues submitting a Palmetto State Armory ammo order. Either the website locks up, or it gives me an error that says something in my cart can not be shipped to this address. I've shipped ammo here before, and I know my state is not on their restricted state list. I've tried each item separately, tried different browsers, different computers, and even two different PSA accounts. I've used my address, friends in nearby cities, and my brother in Louisiana (I'm in Washington state). Obviously you can't contact anyone there. Is anyone else experiencing issues?

I haven’t purchased 5.56 in so long I still get sticker shock when I see the current case prices. Not even sure what’s considered a decent price per round nowadays.

View Quote 45 cents per round is an excellent price for brass cased 5.56 these days.... reality is anything under 50 cents per round is a good price in 2024. It seems like the Hamas bump is mostly over, any increases are the result of planned price increases. I made the mistake of being lulled into buying ammo as needed during the Trump years. Learned that lesson in 2020, now I'm buying a case or two a month until I run out of room. I was looking through my records; most I've paid per round for M193 since 2020 was 80 cents so it has at least gone down and become available. I just snagged two cans of PPU M193 from AE Ammo. 47.5 cents per round delivered in a can seems like a really good deal and it's on the warmer side compared to most M193. |

would it be possible to find out if other places sell the AAC ammo? or is it only PSA? got an email stating the 75gr 5.56 Sabre blade black tip was in stock, like i watched it come through, right away went and clicked the link and its gone.. are they just making low quantities of it? i dont even know what it or the 62gr stuff goes for, only the 55gr.

I see the argument from reloaders who wont reload certain calibers because you can buy those for less or the same cost at factory new prices, well yes that may be true, but the value of reloading comes when you cant buy the ammo at all because of various bans/laws etc that will likely eventually come. then that expensive to reload ammo becomes a necessity that you wont care how much the powder and primers or brass cost you. not to mention having the ability to reload gives you a leg up for bartering. i dont even reload myself or have the equipment due to where i live and limited space, however i buy powder and primers here and there so if /when i do get into it, i have the key ingrediants ready to go, or i can always use it in barter for already made ammo at a hefty discount or something. point im trying to make is the value is that its still available. get it while you can before you simply cant. keep in mind what you dont use this lifetime, may be used by your kids or grandkids when they cant buy ammo either. |

If they have gotten the casing issues ironed out, this looks like it would be okay - if someone was looking for a polymer tipped (vmax) varmint round.
I personally have been buying just bonded rounds for their greater use cases. |

Why would you choose the 77gr otm over the 75gr hornady match bullet? I tested both on the chrono and the 75gr did slightly better in every category. Still need to shoot some groups with both though. Eta: Shot some groups at 50yd with my 11.5in dd upper w/ sfRC2, t2 & g45 magnifier. Tightest group was aac 77otm followed by aac 75gr blk tip and aac 75gr hornady bthp last. Will test them all again another day to make sure i get the same results. |

Nothing. 3100 fps from a 20" barrel will be more than adequate to any task. |

Academy currently has the 500 round boxes of Winchester M855 or M193 on sale for $269.99, with Military and First Responders getting 10%, and you get another 5% off if you use the Academy credit card. That comes out to 49 cents per round with 7% tax.
They also have Winchester Lake City USA .223 Remington 55-Grain Full Metal Jacket Ammunition, in the 20 round boxes, that comes out to 46 cents per round. I haven't kept up with Winchester quality for a while, so I am not sure if these would still be considered a good deal. |
