The Alabama House passed a bill that would make it illegal for any person to possess a machine gun (even legal ones). The language in the bill could also be used to go after aftermarket trigger. I have no idea how this garbage made it through the house! Here is the Hosue passed version of the bill

Call your local rep in the senate to get this stopped before we lose our rights to legally own a machine gun or a after market trigger

This is in the bill:
This section does not apply to a state or local law
enforcement officer while acting in an official capacity or
any machine gun lawfully owned or possessed under federal law.

Correct, it doesn't ban anything on the NFA regsitery.

However it is still a bad bill... it apparently is more strict that federal law, and can be interpreted to ban owning machine gun trigger groups that are legal under federal law (like an AK-47 trigger group).

Please contact your senators here:

Unfortunately, the senator for my county is a Democrat. So there is absolutely no point in me contacting them about this bill.

It also makes every Alabama Class II SOT's pistol-to-MG conversion unlawful until their ATF Form 2 comes back approved.
